Mukluk.

Love that name--would have named my shep/mal mix that if he hadn't come pre-named. :)

:D:D:D

Do you know what mukluk's are?

:D:D:D:D

sorry, that just struck me funny. Please forgive. :)

No problem SF I'm just lookin for inspiration, I hope I didnt come across wrong!

Not at all, I'm just a little overly critical of my self. So how about Shabootie? You can tell people it's Inuit, they'll never know. Unless they ARE Inuit, then you're fucked! Ok, I swear I'm done.

Doesn't sound crass.....after all "native american" is sort of an oxymoron, isn't it? After all, we are the only people native to this land. ;)
:) Dont you know it! Now where did that theosaurus go!
cheers HK

Hehe, i knew a guy who had a cat called Kick, and a dog called Shoot. Kick the cat and Shoot the dog were everyones favourite pets, lol.

I know someone who named their dog Downboy and their cat Get off the Sofa.

Now we're getting silly!

Getting?

Best one I've heard was a friend of mine who had a dog called Deefer. Deefer Dog (say it out loud if you don't get it).

My little bearded collie (sadly deceased just a couple of weeks ago) was called Basil when we got him from the rescue centre. He was an annoying sod to go out on walks with when he was younger as he always had his own ideas about where to go and graciously allowed you to come with him. He also had an annoying habit of ignoring you until you were screaming his name at the top of your voice, then turning around quizzically and ambling back as if saying "Did you call?" :D

It's a terrible thing to yell "BASIL!" in a public place in England. Mainly because every single passerby thinks that they are the first person ever to make the Fawlty Towers joke rather than the four thousand, three hundred and sixty first.

We've already got a cat who was once part of a pair called hopscotch and princess which was fine until they both grew bollocks we changed his name to Smudge but since his little op he's affectionately known as nutless or cookinfat! his bro vanished presumed roadkill but we never told the bairns that

My cousin has a labrador named Woof. Says a name is no fun if you can't say it yourself.

Give me a clue! In a few weeks we are taking charge of an Alaskan Malamute and i want a really good moniker for him.

I entrust all you AH peeps to come up with something better than Tyler (my kids idea!!)

He's a dog and grey and white in colour, suggestions purleese!

Kavick, I read a story in jr high about a wolf/ malamute cross named Kavick, its a cool name, but it didn't sound right for a brindle pitbull, my son named him Bones.

Here's another name your pet website. :) I once had an Alaskan Malamute, that I *loved*. His name was, unspectacularly enough, Blue (he had blue eyes). When I was a child, I had a Lab named Crazy Horse. I thought I was being clever but everyone just looked at me like I was stupid.

Oh, and I have some pink mukluks that I love so I think that name is kind of cute. And it's fun to say. ;)

I think you should teach it to attack when it hears the words, "Nice Doggy".

Then name it "Attack".

But I'm strange like that.

My sister had a husky/malamute mix that was named Balou. (maybe after the Lee Marvin movie Cat Balou, except Dog...) She had one brown eye and one blue eye. The dog, that is.

I had a friend once who named his parakeet Steve. I always thought that was a good name.

Ukluk is Inuit for blade, also the name of a tool to scrape out the blubber from whaleskin and cutting other foods. I think it is a suitable name for a huskie. Either that or go with the name my vousin named his huskie - North.

My wife and I breed and raise Alaskan Malamutes. You couldn't have made a better choice. It has always been customary in my family to open up a map of Alaska and the surrounding regions and choose a name from those places for our pups.

There's lots of good names there!!!

maybe im not the best person to ask.
but then you didnt

kids named our cats... nice nice and purrdy
i named our dogs
riki tiki tavi
and
hairy connick jr.

i used to raise angora rabbits... every one of the twenty little thing swere named after candy bars. Twix had the best fur! I wasnt fond of M&M...he had the biggest pellets.

i really like the idea of calling a dog Stay. its the perversity in me.
