Something I've often wondered. Do cats in England meow with an English accent? Can you tell the difference in meows between cats in Liverpool and London?

We can't. They can.

It's the same for birds. There is a territorial difference in bird song for the same species by location.

Same for rats in New York City. North and South Manhattan have distinct populations, well-fed by sloppy residents, delineated by the relative residential desert of Midtown. Each city neighborhood has its own distinct clan. They smell and sound different and don't intermingle much.

Then the question becomes: Can NYC cats tell the difference, and do they care?

Different breeds certainly do have different meows (e.g. Siamese) and some breeds are more talkative than others, so there would be some regional differences due to regional differences in breeds, but it'll be interesting to see if there are also non-genetic accents.

Our Heroine is beset by loads of work, for it is a Very Busy Time, not helped by inefficient management, and is valiant in her strenuous endeavours to bring some enlightenment to certain dark regions,

But - she is working hard at it and expects to be back on the board in a few weeks.

Our local Aldi store has cheap Rugby shirts on offer in adult and children's sizes. They seem to assume that England is the only Rugby team.
