The story starts out in the High School library. MC is studying and overhears a bunch of "privileged" females talking about mot being approached by males. He berates them and lists several boys they have always ingnored. The librarian told him to be quiet, but he tells her the girls call her names behind her back.
One of the girl's boyfriend challenges MC to a weight lifting contest. Claims he can lift twice what MC does (and loses).
Several years later he marries one of the girls only to find out the two sons aren't his. Both boys had different fathers.
I have searched thru 250 pages of my faves and can't seem to find it.
