I

Hear the sledges with the bells -
Silver bells!
What a world of merriment their melody foretells!
How they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle,
In the icy air of night!
While the stars that oversprinkle
All the heavens seem to twinkle
With a crystalline delight;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells -
From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells.

II

Hear the mellow wedding bells -
Golden bells!
What a world of happiness their harmony foretells!
Through the balmy air of night
How they ring out their delight!
From the molten-golden notes,
And all in tune,
What a liquid ditty floats
To the turtle-dove that listens, while she gloats
On the moon!
Oh, from out the sounding cells
What a gush of euphony voluminously wells!
How it swells!
How it dwells
On the Future! -how it tells
Of the rapture that impels
To the swinging and the ringing
Of the bells, bells, bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells -
To the rhyming and the chiming of the bells!

III

Hear the loud alarum bells -
Brazen bells!
What a tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells!
In the startled ear of night
How they scream out their affright!
Too much horrified to speak,
They can only shriek, shriek,
Out of tune,
In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the fire,
In a mad expostulation with the deaf and frantic fire,
Leaping higher, higher, higher,
With a desperate desire,
And a resolute endeavor
Now -now to sit or never,
By the side of the pale-faced moon.
Oh, the bells, bells, bells!
What a tale their terror tells
Of despair!
How they clang, and clash, and roar!
What a horror they outpour
On the bosom of the palpitating air!
Yet the ear it fully knows,
By the twanging
And the clanging,
How the danger ebbs and flows;
Yet the ear distinctly tells,
In the jangling
And the wrangling,
How the danger sinks and swells,
By the sinking or the swelling in the anger of the bells -
Of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells -
In the clamor and the clangor of the bells!

IV

Hear the tolling of the bells -
Iron bells!
What a world of solemn thought their monody compels!
In the silence of the night,
How we shiver with affright
At the melancholy menace of their tone!
For every sound that floats
From the rust within their throats
Is a groan.
And the people -ah, the people -
They that dwell up in the steeple,
All alone,
And who tolling, tolling, tolling,
In that muffled monotone,
Feel a glory in so rolling
On the human heart a stone -
They are neither man nor woman -
They are neither brute nor human -
They are Ghouls:
And their king it is who tolls;
And he rolls, rolls, rolls,
Rolls
A paean from the bells!
And his merry bosom swells
With the paean of the bells!
And he dances, and he yells;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the paean of the bells,
Of the bells -
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the throbbing of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells -
To the sobbing of the bells;
Keeping time, time, time,
As he knells, knells, knells,
In a happy Runic rhyme,
To the rolling of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells -
To the tolling of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells -
To the moaning and the groaning of the bells

Ohh that is so cool . I would love to learn flamenco. I know you will recover and be back just as you were before. I have been to Spain several times ( not bad for an Australian huh we are sooooooooooo far from most places ) and loved all but the bull fights. I really struggled with those. I remember this little restaurant near one of the oldest still working aquaducts, I think the town was Segovia. Yes it was I just googled it . Whoa built by the Romans over 2000 years ago. Hmmn seems I am getting a little off topic.......lol..........go figure. Well I look forward to hearing you are back on your feet and dancing again. I am sure it will assist from a physiotherapy aspect as well. Do you get to wear the pretty costumes, hair combs , shawls and such ? I have the shoes heh !!!!

Please post some more I think it would be wonderful if you did. Its such a shame the Boards are so limited and we can't share more music etc. Heaven knows I have exhausted all possible applications outside of the general loop to date.

Ohhh here is the original before I shrunk it for AV size.

Ohh and that google link I found :

thank you again Miss Babiesmiles

@}-}rebecca----

You are very welcome Rebecca . I have been several times to Spain as well ( not a big effort as it is really close to me  ) and I even used to live there time ago to follow some "dance " courses with famous "bailaores".

I hope to start my dance class again next autumn and as you kindly appreciated my spanish post I surely will post some other piece next days .

Pity I am not able to post music as you did in the above post ( I really am the major anti-geek ) cause it is always nice to share things with people who seem to appreciate them !

ahh btw that is the kind of dress I mainly wear when on stage, although without the big flower cause I belong to the "minimalist school" ( very simple linear dressing and hair ) :D :rose:

I want to learn to tango some day.

But first I need to do two things:

-- Learn to be able to walk, let alone dance, in those shoes!
-- Lose enough weight that I won't look like a complete idiot.

I'm making progress on item 2! :D

やってのけるだろう。 "The Evil Friendsan"

:rose:

Awww black simple dresses on stage are fantastic . No flowers , no earrings just the play of lights and the pure essence of the movement .
I still remember the costumes Armani designed for the company girls who accompanied the Joaquin Cortès first international tour .

Pure sensuality in their simplicity !

Any chance on a translation for the Japanese, for those who love the language but aren't fluent? :)

I'll make up a 'fact sheet' in the next few days .......alot of is sheer bravado and a little luck thrown in when it comes to finding a suitable WAV file the rest is simple. I know I do it . Ohh I have this very fancy tool . Its called 'paint'.
