Neighborly Control (closed)

The sound of his voice changed. Softened somehow. Did he really think he hurt her? Robyn stood in front of him and wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned into him. She looked into his eyes brushing her lips against him she whispered, "You didn't hurt me, truth is I loved what happened last night and couldn't stop thinking about it today." Her hands slid under his t shirt and lightly scratched down his back. "I don't break and a little bruising reminds me just how alive you can make me feel."

"Oh, I didn't think I would break you. I did like my hands on your hips." He looked at her as she moved close to him and brushed her lips over his. He was a little surprised when she slid her hands under his t-shirt and scratched her nails up and down his back. He sat there...wondering where this would go.

"I will make you a deal, if we ever go that far again, I will tell you if something hurts. Until then don't think that everything you do hurts me.....OK?"

She turned away and grabbed the eggs off the stove, drained the water and put some cold water over them to cool.

"If you want to grab the dressing out of the refrigerator, I will grab some plates and silverware."

She noticed he was just watching her. She smiled and winked as she bent over to get two plates out of the dishwasher.

Michael wasn't sure how to take her. Was Robyn teasing him, or was she flirting with him? Her wink and then the way she bent over to get the plates had him wondering. He went to the refrigerator and got the dressing as she had asked and carried it to the table. He sat down across from Robyn as she dipped up the salad.

They sat there and talked through supper. It was refreshing to have a meal that wasn't listening about teenage drama. Sometimes Robyn wondered if all boys gossiped or if it was just her boys.

She learned a little more about Michael, as she told him about hers. All the while they talked Robyn's foot rubbed up and down his shin.

"I am suppose to let you know there's a block party Friday night. It's the last one before school starts. Everyone brings something to eat and their own bottle. It starts at 6 and usually lasts well I to the early morning hours for some."

Michael enjoyed dinner. It was nice and relaxing and very comfortable. He was very conscious of her foot rubbing on his shin, and it had his body tingling. "I would love to go to the block party. It sounds like a lot of fun. It will give me a chance to meet the other people in the neighborhood, but I will probably have to be on my best behavior."

Robyn wondered if he was saying he would go with her and be on his behavior or if he will go alone and be on his best behavior and not drink. She was so new to this. She hasn't been with a man in 4 years. She wondered if there was a book called Understanding Men for dummies.

"The city employees usuay block off the street about 4 so if you go anywhere with your car, you won't get back in the driveway until Saturday morning."

"I am thinking I will just hang around here then. No reason to go anywhere. I will work around the house until it is time to get ready. Then we can go together. It will give me a level of comfort being with you. That is, if you don't mind." He figured that she might not want to show up with him because people might start to talk.

"That will be fine I won't get home until about 5 from work. I will park my car in the Church parking lot and walk home. If you want to come over when you're ready I will have my stuff lined up in the morning. Michael I never stay late, I usually disappear when its obvious they have had enough to drink. By then you will know enough people and you can stay and I will do my disappearing act."

"There's more salad if you want some." She changed the subject quick wondering if he picked up what she silently was telling him.

"I am not going to be staying around if everyone is drinking. The last thing I need to do is get drunk in front of them the first time I ever meet them, especially with kids around. I think that when you disappear, I will slip away also." He smiled at her. "No thank you. I have had plenty." Michael got up and started clearing the table and carrying the dishes to the sink. He started washing the dishes as Robyn put the leftovers away.

"The past two block parties I didn't attend, I got home early and went to the basement and hid down there for the night." She remembered how the boys said Mr. Miller kept asking where their sexy mom was. Both boys knew they didn't tell him she was home or he would come over and they was the last place she wanted him.

She turned around and saw Michael washing dishes, never has a man done her dishes. She leaned against the counter and watched him. This man amazed her. He seemed comfortable here. She just wondered how long will it be before he missed city living.

"I can get that later Michael, let's go sit outside, I can start a small fire in the fire pit. That is if you aren't in a hurry to get home."

Michael continued to do the dishes as she watched him. Living by himself ensured that he did dishes, and he hated to just leave dirty ones in the sink. "I am most finished. Plus, it isn't a big deal. I do dishes all the time." Michael smiled at Robyn as he finished up. "Sure, I would be happy to join you. After all, it isn't like k have a long distance to travel to get back home."

Robyn smiled at his joke. She grabbed him a bottle of water and handed it to him.

She found it hard to keep her eyes off him. She wanted to feel his body close to hers again. The sound of his groan as he came. His hands strong and firm on her skin. She pushed those thoughts to the side and handed him his water and together they headed outside.

Michael followed Robyn outside. They sat together on the porch and talked idly as he sipped on the. Little of water that she had handed him. Periodically, his mind would wander to what had happened between them the night before. The thoughts were arousing, and caused him to let his eyes wander over her body as they chatted.

Robyn wanted to know everything she could about him, but she hated asking questions. Michael was a very private person. They sat on her swing and talked about the neighborhood.

"Over there is where Emma lives. She moved in a few years ago when she couldn't manage her steps at home anymore. She does really well on her own but occasionally I get a call from life alert and have to go over and pick her up." Robyn continued on telling him about the people who live around them. "With the exception of Mr. Miller, everyone here is very nice."

She found herself chattering because she was nervous. Robyn thought if she kept talking she wouldn't think about what happened last night

Michael listened to everything Robyn had to say. He took it all in. He was like a sponge....he absorbed information. By doing that, he was very rarely blindsided by a situation. He also enjoyed hearing about his new neighbors. He wanted to try his hardest to make it work in this fresh start, so, becoming comfortable in the neighborhood was going to be important to him. "So, what is the problem with Mr. Miller? Other than him being obnoxious at the block party?

Robyn tucked her legs under her as the swing swayed back and forth. "He is so crude and likes to touch, My boys call him spider. He is one man I don't want to be in a room alone with, I learned that lesson two days after I moved in."

Just then the little neighbor girls came outside fighting about something. Robyn laughed and put her hand on Michael's thigh, "Our evening entertainment has just started."

"So, you didn't like him touching you? It didn't seem like you minded your new neighbor touching you last night though." He chuckled a little bit as he looked down at Robyn's hand on his thigh. "So, the girls are the neighborhood entertainment? I guess I am going to get to see my first show tonight. This should be interesting."

"Once you meet Mr. Miller you will understand. I am surprised someone hasn't beat the crap out of him yet."

When she noticed that he looked down at her hand on his thigh she shifted in her seat and moved her hand back to her lap. "Yes they have been my entertainment since I moved in. Two weeks ago 6's didn't like something her sister said and chased her around the yard with a baseball bat. Lucky for her sister her dad saved her and Sara was sent to her room."

Robyn sat there beside him knowing she needed to enjoy his company while he was still knew in town. Once he gets established some young woman without the baggage Robyn had will latch on to him and it will just be her and the dog on the porch watching the neighbor girls.

"It doesn't appear that there is anyone in the neighborhood that is willing to stand up to Miller. That is a shame. If he gives you any problems, let me know and I will have a little chat with him." Michael listened to Robyn talk about the girls. He laughed a little when she mentioned one sister chasing the other with a baseball bat. "Well, it will be an interesting show to see if she chases her around again tonight. Not as interesting as last night was though."

She looked over at him and smiled, not sure on what to say, no one has ever offered to protect her from the neighborhood pervert.

"Oh I am almost certain something will happen. I am just thankful they aren't my kids, they make me tired just watching them most nights."

"So when is your actual first day of work Michael? Have you met Kate your secretary?"

"Yes, I met Kate when I stopped at school today. I figured it would be a good idea to introduce myself to some people at the school...put a face to a name, and start to become familiar with the people at the school before I start in two weeks. I figured I would stop by for a short period every day or so just so that it isn't such a big deal on my first day." He wondered why Robyn had mentioned his soon-to-be secretary. Was it because Kate was very attractive? Could Robyn be jealous of the young woman who was going to be his secretary?

She sat there silently, just listening to the girls sing at the top of their lungs. She wondered how long it will be before Kate started sending Michael picture text messages of her naked body. Robyn remembered the stories how her tit pictures send one teacher in divorce court and without a job.

Michael stood up and faced Robyn. "I think I have taken up enough of your time for one evening. I am sure that you want some alone time before the kids get home from practice, so, I am going to head home and leave you alone. Thank you for a delicious dinner, and a very nice visit. I enjoyed it." Michael leaned over and kissed Robyn on the cheek before turning and heading home.

She wanted to say no, please don't go. Instead she stood and touched his shoulders when he kissed her cheek.

"Michael, thank you for the company, my nights get very long and boring when my boys aren't here." She kissed his cheek and told him good night. As he walked across the lawn she heard the little neighbor girls ask him what his name was. Robyn smiled as he walked over and talked to them. She watched him point to his house then over to her house. Sara saw her sitting on the porch and waved. Robyn waved back and got up and went inside for her shower.
