New forum bug. Safari only?

Around 8AM this morning, I lost the formatting bar on Safari for posting to threads. (The one that gives italics/bold/quotes/etc.)
To be more precise, the bar is still there and the tool tips are available on hover, but all the elements in the bar are disabled (grayed out).

I didn't note the time exactly, but I loaded one thread that had it. The next thread I opened did momentarily, but when I added italics, it misformatted it and then the bar greyed out. It stayed on the old thread, but any new thread no longer allows any of the editing functions.

Not the end of the world most of the time.

I did test firefox and it still works for me there. I have never attached chrome to here, so I won't bother testing that.

I bet you accidentally hit the three-dots "More Options" menu and somehow switched to "Toggle BB Code"

Try switching it back.

Always possible, but my more options menu is grayed out too. I would think that would impact Firefox as well. It has persisted across restarting safari. Maybe it's kept in a cookie I guess.

Okay so @Manu hates me specifically.

The brackets right next to the save icon on desktop toggle bbcode off and on, and a tap of that grays out everything. I can't be assed to look up any of my logins to check them on Safari right now ( never logged into Lit with that device apparently ) but see no issues on Firefox.

Click/tap those brackets. It's particularly easy to accidentally do if you ever use the save icon.

Do you have a cookie or ad blocker enabled?

Which version of Safari are you running?

No issues in Chrome on Windows, OSX, iOS and Android. I don't use other browsers for Lit.

The BBCode toggle also works as @RejectReality advertises.

It's gone in DuckDuckGo for Android. Works in Chrome (Win8).

No issues in IE or Opera on desktop. No issues in Chrome, Firefox, or the Samsung browser on mobile.

Thank you @RejectReality The brackets worked. They were grayed out so I couldn't see them at all. I checked for them is firefox and saw what you meant. It was apparantly still active, even if gray.

Glad it's solved and not a bug. There are enough of those to track down and fix as it is without a new rare one that's hard to reproduce.
