It's not horribly cold, but i went to the coast with a friend today... it wasn't very nice-- although i did have tons of fun. The Oregon coast isn't exactly the funnest beach in the U.S.

Either or. I've considered California alot, because the climate is alot milder, and it's not too far from home... but the people there are totally different from Oregon... it would be a culture shock for me. No biggie, though.

That's definately true, the Northwest is where you need to be. I'm in WA and I've lived in Phoenix. Totally different atmospheres.
