GuyJD, what kind of music does this club play? I am into the more techno-ish type stuff, as well as some good 80's (I wanna fuck you like an animal!!! doo doo doo doo...) love that song hehe...but yeah, I would really like to know some of the out of the way places down there too, although I am sure we will hit up the french quarter just because ya sorta haveta. Best time I had there once was when a friend and I drove over for the night and stayed in a hotel out of the FQ but were able to ride the trolly in, well, we hooked up with the bartender of our hotel (always a good choice, mmm, locals....) and he took us to some super out of the way cultural restaraunt which I think was cuban perhaps, it was somethink spanish-sounding. But at any rate, it was cool to be the only black and white peeps in the place, seeing the whole family running the lil restaraunt including kids. The food and atmosphere were so awsome and we only got stared at for a few minutes when we walked in LOL!
I LOVE these types of places if you can recommend anything for me ;) Did you ever see that movie bout the bad chick who is turned into a government killer? Something Fonda was in it, they went to a cute lil bed and breakfast place in the movie, any suggestions like that?

That club, when I last went there, mostly plays current R&B and hip-hop. I guess that won't work for you. PM me when you get a chance. Maybe I can help you still. I know of occassional free concerts near the French Quarter section.

Bump and ka-thump!

Had to push my trip to July, but I'm going, dammit!

Aside from the strip joints, who knows about any jazz spots?

Doesn't have much of a dance club scene. you can find good out of town DJs at house of blues.

Dance? Club 730 on Bourbon

Strippers...I had a great experience at Scarlett's Gentleman's Club :)

There are also some good "toy" shops.

Food....get a Po boy at Johnny's Po Boys on St. Louis (?)
and beignets from Cafe Du Monde
pralines...loretta's pralines in the French Market

While you're NOT partying, try a swamp tour, they're REALLY COOL!

Or just visit the Louisiana Exhibit at the Audobon Zoo...I did that and didn't feel the need to do the Swamp Tour Afterwards.

I really liked visiting the Laura Plantation...it's very authentic and it has a much less museumy vibe. Id' visit them again...I wouldn't bother with Oak Alley because it was so sterile...and they didn't bring up anythign that made Louisiana different...i could've been anywhere else in the south.

for good dance music (THURSDAY NIGHT IS 80'S NIGHT) and other stuff (GLAM ROCK SATURDAY) visit the Shim Sham Club on toulouse off of Royal st.

Awesome place, not gonna be open much longer. June 6th, I think.

Damn! Why'd I have to move my trip back? I would have liked to have gone there...

(Well, hell; at least I'm going! :D)

Question: is it illegal to have a "toy" in certain parts of the South?
(God, that question was nasty on TWO levels!)
Still, it would be good to know...:D

Last time we were there, we fucked in the window of our hotel room. We saw the sed light of a camera and called for them to cum down to the 6th floor. It turned out to be 2 big black guys. They videotaped us fucking and my wife blew them both....what a hot night!

Is it just me, or does this sound too good to be true?

Next time, post what hotel you stayed in! :p

Silly me, I thougt that saying was for Vegas. Guess it applies pretty well to N'awlins too.

And I agree with you, we need some proof.
