They get deleted because of these new pornography "laws" set bout by the bush administration. To my knowledge they aren't actually written yet but I think lit see's it as only a matter of time. Basically they are saying that in the US you are not allowed to post a picture that involves anything more than nudity. It may be purely limited to a persons chest. Any way its a bunch of BS and somethings were done but have failed up to this point to give us another place to go hosted off shores outside of the gov'ts grip. I think Lit is deleteing the pics mostly so that lit can continue to exist more than they care one way or another what actually is posted. However there are some ways around this one method is a photobucket or yahoo account. ahoo wives there users a photo place that can be made public and I believe though I have not confirmed they will let you post whatever you want. I could of course be completely wrong about this whole deleting pics thing but I think if it was for "server space reasons" they would delete files from threads that haven't been looked at for 5 years first which thy don't seem to be looking at at all because I check up on old thread from time to time and pics are still there.

Referring to U.S. 2257? Yes, that is set in law by Congress. There's a post at the top of the forum about it (and it has already been challenged, in part, once in court witht he court ruling in favor of the challenger). If the missing pictures are due to a system glitch which, I would like to belive as much as the rest of us, then that is a huge a glitch. I have noticed that very popular threads seem to be affected the most which leads me to belive that they are easy places to drop pictures from. Of course a glitch that happens due to thread volume would also produce those effects. I am inclined to lead towards moderator removal over a glitch simply because the content of the pictures that are left behind, in my experience, seem to be well within what the act suggest would be legal. If you have evidence to the contrary I would be glad to see it and restore some of my faith.
