The AmPics mod is Nigel.
I PMed him twice, first time to ask him whether anybody had been reporting my pictures, second time seeking any info he might have on the subject.
He promptly replied to both of my messages, assured me that he has not removed any pictures and that no reports ever reached him, and declared himself as baffled as all the rest of us are by the missing pics issue.

As far as anyone who has actually talked to the mods can tell, there's some system glitch or bug going around.

the mods aren't doing it - I know for a fact that the Am Pics mod is completely in the dark as to why pics are disappearing - more than likely it is a technical glitch with the database as apparently it crashed recently - if it was the mods taking the pics down, they certainly wouldn't be taking down pics here and there - there would be ALOT more disappear than currently do.
