Nighthawk: A Superhero Story (closed for Siobhancan99)

Slipping the harness on she got behind her girl, letting the toy rest between Gabi's cheeks "we need a full length mirror" she reached around, tugging her girl against her. She moved a bit, pushing Gabi to bend forward, then gripped the toy. SHe rubbed the head up and down along her slit, then started to push in. She watched it work into her girl's tight body, then grabbed Gabi's hips and started to move her along it. Her thrusts were slow at first, letting her girl get used to the lubed up toy, the girth of it, the angle of penetration. She pressed into her back, then reached around and started rubbing her clit "you're so god damn hot. How did I end up with you?"

Gabi gasped as Monica slipped the sizeable, thick toy inside her. “Yesss.” Her head and neck pitched back a bit as her girlfriend started to penetrate her again. She breathed deeply, occasionally whimpers slipping out after a particular deep thrust.

When Monica’s fingers found their way to Gabi’s clit again, she let out a moan from somewhere deep inside. “Still…trying…to figure that out myself,” she managed as her lover drove the strap-on inside her. “Yess. Fuck, Monica. Fuck me just like that, baby,” she cooed, half out of breath. “Goddd. Don’t stop.”

Monica started pounding Gabi with the strap, having to hold back a little. She watched her lover's ass bounce with the hard impact of her hips "fuck that's hot. Sometimes I wish I had a real dick" she grins and keeps her fingers moving against Gabi's clit, stroking, teasing. She leans in, rubbing against Gabi's back, fucking her with steady strokes. She kissed along Gabi's neck, sucking, tugging at the flesh, marking her "mine" she growled, keeping her lover pinned against the dresser as she drove the toy in again and again and again. "fuck you smell so good. feel so good against me. you're so fucking hot. I love fucking you."

Gabi moaned deeply, pressing her hands flat against the wall behind the dresser. She squirmed with pleasure as Monica fingered her, gasped with each thrust. She glanced back as Monica remarked about the dick, a devilish grin on her sweet face. “Oh, yeah,” she moaned, playing it up a little for Monica, “give me that big cock of yours, baby. You’re so big.”

Monica continued to pound her girlfriend against the dresser, the wet swish of the toy sliding into her in rhythm with the jiggles of the brunette’s perky ass and breasts. “Ohhh…fuck. Oh, god.”

Every motion of the strap-on brought another peal of pleasure, and every stroke of Monica’s finger brought out a stifled scream.

Gabi could only stifle it for so long. Her entire body shook as she came again, her olive-hued, feverishly warm, curvy body all but going limp on the axis of the toy.

Holding Gabi up, she kissed her neck "mmmm." she rolled her hips a little, moving the toy inside her lover, then lifted her effortlessly and carried her to the bed again, laying her down. she kissed along her back, then laid half along her, stroking her skin, keeping up her touches to build a sense of post coital intimacy. "you're so beautiful."

“God, baby,” Gabi sighed. “You’re so good to me,” she added as Monica placed her lovingly on the bed. Kneading Monica's arms, she said, “Mmm. Feels great.”

She lightly played with Monica’s fingers. “You say that enough, I’ll start to believe it,” the Latina said with a smile. “You’ve…always made feel good about myself. Even when I wasn’t sure of myself.”

Her hand brushed the length of Monica’s leg. “Of course, having a really hot girlfriend is really good for the whole confidence thing,” she said with a soft laugh, pressing a kiss into the palm of Monica’s hand.

Monica curled up with Gabi, holding her. "you are beautiful. More importantly you're the only one in our friend group with their shit together. Competence is sexy" she laughed and kissed her girlfriend's shoulder, snuggling in against her and holding her close. "So really I'm the lucky one."

Gabi was silent for a minute. “Thanks, querida. I’m trying. But then there are days like today where…I was pretty sure that Thalmer was lying. Like, in my brain,” she clarified, reaching for Thadeus A. Bear and pulling him against her chest. “But…it’s like, my body had a meltdown. I had to talk to Melanie and talk to you and….I really needed this. My body really needed this.”

She draped Monica’s hand over the stuffed animal. “I’m…managing the stress okay. Meeting with Melanie has helped. I'm meeting with her again tomorrow. And she was saying that all the stuff I do to stay on top of school, put in extra hours and everything…that’s kind of like my way of controlling the things I can control so I don’t worry so much about the….the electricity people and the metal guy and all that.”

Curling in tighter she kissed the back of Gabi's neck "i know, you have to be a little bit of a wreck." She ran her hand along her girl's arm, kissing her shoulder and holding her close "would it make you feel better if you were more involved? less? how can I make this easier for you?"

“I think things are good where they’re at,” Gabi noted, rolling onto her back so she could look at her girlfriend’s face. “You’ve been really up front with me since the start, and I really appreciate that. I feel like…I know what I was getting into with you. And I do like helping out with the research stuff.” She smiled a bit. “Just keep doing what you’re doing, baby. If I think of anything, I’ll let you know.”

The two girls cuddled together for a while longer, before Gabi pulled herself away to begin working on some homework.

The next day a little before 2:00, Monica was on her way to the last class of the week before she and Gabi met up with her father at the dorm when she received another text from Thalmer. Included was an image from behind of Gabi in the silver and black jogging clothes she’d worn for her run that morning. The accompanying text read:

Thalmer: You know, the more I see that girlfriend of yours, the more I get it😍 And who’s the red-headed cougar she met with today? Dropping by for some “extra credit”?

Monica seethed. This was pretty clearly a threat. Thalmer could get to people. She considered how to handle it. She couldn't exactly call the cops on alien superman without him being whisked off to tell everything he knew about everything. She couldn't murder her way out of it either. She couldn't go to her father without a healthy dose of "i told you so." So for now she texted back "Good to see you've reached the acceptance part of the five stages of grief. Maybe now you can find an earth girl and settle down." This was a conundrum. Maybe she could murder her way out of it. No. Bad Monica. Murder was for weird alien space cultists. Not normal alien creeps.

Monica’s computer and electrical engineering class seemed to drag on. By the time she was finished and on her way to her apartment, she’d received a single text about ten minutes ago.

Gabi: Your dad and Kat are here! I stripped the sheets from your bed so we can toss those in the washer back home.

When Monica arrived at the apartment, her father, dressed in a “Prospect University Dad” t-shirt and jeans, was standing in the kitchen, grinning, while Gabi was showing him something on her phone. Nearby, his girlfriend, Kat, a slender, dark brown-haired 30-something photographer in glasses that Monica had gotten to know a bit over the holiday break, was filling up a water bottle.

“Wow, those are terrible,” her father said in a light tone as Gabi pulled the phone away.

“Hello,” Kat said with a little wave before screwing the top of the bottle back on.

“Just showing your dad some of the really bad science memes Professor Sinclair puts in his PowerPoints,” Gabi explained.

“I think it’s official,” her father said to Monica warmly, walking towards her with his arms open for a hug, “I approve of your girlfriend. You found a good one.”

Monica's phone chimed again. Only an update to the group chat from Porter.

"well if we pretend I didn't have a rebound between Tom and Gabi we can say I have 100 percent fatherly approval." She grinned and hugged her dad, glad to see him. He made everything feel normal. He always had, ever since her mother left. She could forget about Thalmer for a moment and just focus on going home. "Good to see you too Kat." She looked over at the woman, closer in age to her than to her dad. Still, with his Centauri genes he didn't look old enough to have a daughter her age.

She headed into the other room to pack, and in case of Thalmer (he wasn't entirely out of mind) she packed her armor in a big duffel. Better to have it, and not need it, then to need it and not have it. The armor might give her the edge she'd need if he showed up. She stowed the chain too, in case he did have his own protection she needed to bash through.

That evening, Monica, Gabi, her father, and Kat drove to the local pizza parlor, Pie in the Sky, where they began to get caught up. When Monica told her father and his girlfriend about her and Gabi’s upcoming spring break plans in New York City, a gleam appeared in Kat’s eyes. Monica had learned through her father that the 30-something had lived in Prospect City and had only moved back home to Cottersville within the last year or so following a messy divorce, in part so she could be closer to her ailing father.

“Oh, awesome,” she said, smiling, “do you have any thing in particular you’re going to check out there? A friend of mine works at this great little art gallery in Williamsburg. It’s called Crescent Galleries and they exhibit a lot of really cool contemporary art—some traditional media, some video art, installations, things like that. If you’re interested, I can save you both about 10 bucks a pop and get you in free. Plus there’s a great bar across the street…that you should avoid,” she added, shifting her gaze to James. “For another couple of years, at least.”

“Good save,” Monica’s father noted as she draped a sunflower-tattooed arm around him.

Another text came in:

Thalmer: Don’t worry, Princess. I have plenty of love to go around.

"Oh absolutely" Monica nodded "I am a good girl of high moral character and I appreciate you helping keep me on the straight and narrow." She grinned "New york City presents a lot of options. I think we will go to the zoo and maybe some churches" She wrapped her own arm around Gabi then looked down at her phone. She texted Thalmer "Well get out there, somewhere besides Prospect City. I hear There's a lot of tradwife types in Kansas City."

Gabi gave Monica a little squeeze. “And the Museum of Natural History! You can just drop me off there one day at like 9 AM and I’ll just stay til closing.”

“And maybe a little after that,” James said with a grin. “Camp out. Do a whole ‘Night at the Museum’ thing. Excuse me.” He rose from his seat and Kat made way for him to head across the crowded small-town restaurant toward the restrooms.

“We definitely have to get some pizza while we’re there—like, real NYC pizza,” Gabi said, finishing up her crust.

“And street food—I miss street food,” Kat said with a sigh. “Have you two been to the waffle truck on the corner of Blevin Street?” she asked, referring to a location not far from Prospect University’s campus. “You have to check it out. It’ll change your life.”

Monica went through the weekend without further communication from Thalmer. She was able to relax, to soak in the nothing that was constantly happening at home. Life just seemed to drift by there, and that was exactly what she needed. She and Gabi dutifully performed all their family visitation, but really it was easy enough. She woke early sunday, packing while Gabi was still asleep so they could make the most of the day before heading back.

Entering the kitchen of the Ruiz house, Monica spotted her girlfriend’s 9-year-old sister, Ana, playing with a space-themed Lego set. Her father, Orlando, lay on his side. “Oh no! She’s gonna hit the tower thingy,” he declared dramatically as the pony-tailed child brought a shuttle in for a landing.

“No. She’s got all of this navigation stuff,” she reminded him very seriously.

“Right, right.”

“Decreasing thrusters,” Ana said, making the sound of the ship powering down.

“Morning,” Orlando said. “Help yourself to some breakfast.”

“Monica!” Ana called out. “I finished it!” she said, lifting up the space station.

Monica had received two texts. The first was to her group thread with Zoe and Gabi. “Good morning. Hope you had a good birthday weekend with your Dad! Is there a chance we could talk today? Doesn’t have to be in-person.” Monica and Gabi had not yet had a chance to have a conversation with her former teammate about the nature of their relationship with everything that had been going on since Thursday’s career fair.

The second was a message from her father. “Call me when you can today. In private.”

The stress of talking to Zoe was too much to handle right now, and so she decided to delay that unpleasantness with whatever unpleasantness her father had coming. She hoped it was that he was stupid enough to be getting married after 4 months of dating or something. She half suspected he'd seen Thalmer or something. It could be anything though, and whatever it was would eat her. She slipped out into the back of the house, calling her father and waiting on him to pick up.

“Morning, honey,” her father said, sounding a bit stuffed up, as if he was fighting a cold. It was in the mid-50s outside. “I didn’t want to talk…’business’ yesterday, but…I thought you should know.”

There was a pause. “They released some more photos from the Sutter investigation, and one of the persons of interest is our old pal, Thalmer. He and some other woman…short, dark hair. The pics were taken at the outdoor market Sutter and his girlfriend went to before they were killed. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean someone figured out that he was diverting the Warpstream or has undone it, but I did want to just give you a heads up. I get the sense he’s just a bloodthirsty errand boy for some Centauri still in the US, so I don’t necessarily think he has any reason to go after you, but…just be careful. I’ll see what I can find out about the Warpstream.”

Monica spotted Gabi and her mother coming down the stairs. They’d be getting ready for church soon.

Monica frowned. It made a certain sick sense. It might be that Thalmer had to go for more than one reason. If he'd undone what Sutter had done, she might have to take more drastic steps. She might have to reveal the Centauri to the world. That wasn't a choice she wanted to much make. "Noted. keep me in the loop" She hastily said her goodbyes, and went in to check on Gabi and her mother. "So uh. When are we talking to Zoe?" She asked her girl, "the twelfth of never is good for me."

A look of concern crossed Gabi’s face, and a moment later, the doorbell rang. Ignoring it as her mom went to answer it, the dark-haired girl said, “Ugh, I know it’s going to suck, but we need to tell her. Doesn’t have to be today, though.”

Sara opened the door with a curious Ana nearby.

“Did you want me to talk to her?” Gabi asked. “I don’t know. Maybe it’ll be easier on her coming from me because we weren’t super good friends through high school.” She stroked Monica’s bicep gently. “Or maybe it would make it worse. I don’t know.”

Monica heard a familiar, confident voice from the door. “I’m really sorry to bother you,” Thalmer said, “but my dog got off her leash again and I think I saw her snooping around your bushes. Would I possibly be able to check your backyard?”

“Oh, of course,” Sara said warmly, her youngest daughter at her hip. “Orlando?” she called.

Monica moved over to the door "Call the police. That guy stalked me. Orlando, get your gun." She was done with Thalmer. "Listen, asshole." She moved between him and Sarah "you wanna talk, we will talk but if you want to do crazy bullshit you're gonna end up in a mental hospital."

“Whoa, whoa,” Thalmer said as Ana ducked behind her mother as the rest of the household reacted in shock. He glanced over at Orlando, who was heading up the stairs. “Stay put, Dad. I didn’t come here to cause any trouble. And that’s exactly what calling the cops is going to bring.” He locked eyes with Monica again. “Trouble. I’ve got some information that they would find just…fascinating, you know? Mind-blowing stuff.”

“You get the fuck away from here,” Sara said with a cool assuredness to her voice, grasping Monica’s hand and stepping towards the man.

“Don’t worry. I’m headed out. Gotta beat that Sunday morning church traffic, am I right?”

Monica favored him with a look, then leaned in "tell them" She straightened and looked him in the eye "I promised Alex Sutter I would not. now I don't have to worry about that, do I Thalmer?" She arched an eyebrow "So tell them" She pushed him back, looking back towards Sara "he's leaving" then leaned in again speaking low enough only for him to hear "tell the cops you're an illegal alien from outer space and so am I. I was born here, dumbfuck. you have nothing to show you were. I will continue on living my life and you will either be committed to an institution, or carved up by earth scientists. So tell them. After I cry and tell them you raped me, what do you think their response is going to be huh? Think they're going to believe you that a girl born in this town at the local hospital is an alien? or that you're an insane rapist?"
