Nighthawk: A Superhero Story (closed for Siobhancan99)

Monica sighed "both were a bit of a shit show"

She took her gilfriend's hand and slid it under her shirt, to rest on her flat stomach. She threaded her fingers through Gabi's and looked up at her. "So I mean, I told Melanie about us and well. It was a bit of a blow I think. She'd already said she was leaving town for a while but... hey... it's ok because im seeing someone... I dunno. I felt like I had to tell her because I didn't want her to have false hope and I wanted to tell her because I want to tell everyone but like... maybe I shouldn't have." She sighed and held Gabi's hand, keeping it in her own "And jogging...I saved a homeless guy who was catching a beat down by these drunk frat bros. One's name was Paterson. Fucking Paterson. First off, last names as first names is fucking full on cringe. Like full on. Secondly, Paterson is a fucking stupid name. Its like naming yourself "person." It's so fucking stupid. Pater literally means father, so Paterson means son of the father. Oh? really? I thought you were the son of zeus... oh wait even if you were HE WOULD STILL BE YOUR FUCKING FATHER." She inhaled "I made the little pecker confess to the cops but... he smirked at me like... his daddy was gonna get him out of it. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he did. So... yay I saved some guy but also... you know like... I dunno. It is hard to feel like I can make a difference there."

“I think you did the right thing,” Gabi said as Monica discussed her talk with her professor. “I mean…I don’t know the details too much, but it sounded very…complicated and…yeah. You don’t want her to leave thinking the door is open.” Her fingers gently kneaded Monica’s stomach.

Gabi couldn’t help but let out a soft, melodious laugh at Monica’s takedown of Mr. Lowell. “That is a good thing you did. You stopped some assholes from really hurting a homeless guy. That is a definite win.” Leaning down, she placed a warm kiss on Monica’s forehead. “You’re not responsible for fixing the American legal system.”

The Latina placed a throw pillow on the floor in front of the couch. “Here. Sit.” After Monica had had seated herself, Gabi placed her hands on Monica’s neck and began to rub. “You’re so tense, querida. Sorry you had such a rough night. Oh…does massaging do anything for you? Or do I have to have, like, super strength to make a difference?”

Monica smiled "you don't have to have super strength.' She paused a moment, then slowly drew her t shirt off and brushed her hair over her shoulders "we can sit or we can go lay down." She looked back at Gabi and smiled, drawing her knees up to her chest "up to you Corazon. I want your hands on me. I want you to touch me and I want to feel close to you. I need it and I need you" She turned her face back forward, resting her chin on her knees. She kept her arms around her legs, sighing, closing her eyes as she anticipates Gabi's hands being back on her "Thank you, Chica Hermosa"

“Ooh, that’s a cute bra,” Gabi remarked sunnily. She kissed Monica, cupping her girlfriend’s chin gently as her tongue grazed Monica’s. “I need that, too. Go lay on your bed, chica. I’m just going to get changed.” The brunette brushed Monica’s cheek and then walked off, her hips swaying softly in the dark jeans she wore.

When Monica had gotten herself settled on her bed, Gabi entered the room. She wore a powder blue nightgown, the hem ending about a third of the way down her olive-hued thighs. “Hey, sweetie,” Gabi said, approaching the bed. Monica was positioned so that she was slightly propped up on her elbows facing the end of her bed.

A moment later, Gabi was on the bed to Monica’s right side. Monica could smell a new scent, some vaguely vanilla-scented body mist that her girlfriend must have applied. The brown-haired girl kissed the back of her neck, then began to work her fingers into the tense muscles. “Just relax. Gabi’s going to make it all better.”

Despite her petite hands, the touch felt good, and Monica could feel her muscles relaxing a bit.

Monica shrugged out of her bra and laid down on the bed, so Gabi would have access to her full back. "You smell good." She sighed, liking the light application of the scent, it was subtle and so it didn't overwhelm. "you always do" she sighed in response to Gabi's words. She slipped her hands under her pillow and rested her head on it, to keep her arms out of the way. She closed her eyes, enjoying the touch of Gabi's soft hands against her back. "thanks for this." It was nice Gabi wanted to do stuff like this for her. This was a step up from the wham bam thank you ma'am of Austin... though that certainly had its moments.

The gentle massage had a dual aspect to it, part of it was just the simple pleasure of having her back rubbed, but part of it was building that connection with Gabi. Gabi had rubbed her clothed back before, but here she was, mostly naked, letting Gabi's gentle hands explore her body a bit in a way that was intimate like nothing they'd done, in spite of being nonsexual. She sighed, letting herself enjoy the multi-layered pleasures of being tended to by her gorgeous girlfriend. "your hands are nice and warm" she muttered, keeping her eyes closed "they feel really nice."

Gabi massaged Monica’s neck and shoulders first. “Thanks. Can I just say how amazing it was to smell your hair on my pillows after you slept in my bed? And to smell it when I wake up in the morning and you’re out making breakfast or something.” Although her hands were delicate, the brunette was putting real effort into working out the kinks and small knots of her girlfriend's upper body. “The way I see it is this is, like, my contribution to you protecting the city.”

Gabi worked her hands down her Monica's back. Some of the Latina's hair lightly tickled her skin. “That’s it—relax, carino,” she said, continuing to rub. “Just let it all go.” Monica felt her friend place a tender kiss on her bare right shoulder.

Monica drifted under Gabi's loving attention. The stress and the pangs of the earlier part of the night forgotten under the silken glide of Gabi's soft hands along her back. Her mind grew slowly heavy and her body stilled, the dark room and the warmth of her girlfriend against her lulling her into a state where time started to lose any meaning. "well your contribution is pretty awesome." she sighed, feeling her eyes get heavier and heavier "I really wanted to make out but... I think I'm falling asleep" A few minutes later, the sound of her snores would permeate the room, her face a mask of peace and contentment as Gabi helped her get into a good place.

“No worries, carino,” Gabi said, playfully tousling Monica’s hair. “You look adorable by the way.” She kissed Monica lightly on the lips. “Let me get you a sleep shirt.” Gabi walked to her dresser and waited for Monica to tell her which drawer to go into, then produced a soft garment. “Here you go.”

Gabi turned away from Monica. “Promise I won’t peek,” she said as her girlfriend slipped on the shirt. “Though it’s very tempting…”

A moment later, Gabi left to make her final preparations before bedtime. Soon, Monica felt her girlfriend’s warm form slip in behind her and wrap her up in an embrace. Before she really even registered Gabi’s touch, Monica fell asleep.

When Monica awoke the next morning, she was alone in her bed, but she could hear Gabi cooking up breakfast. “Goood morning,” the brown-haired girl said, beaming.

In her physics class, Monica saw Austin for the first time since she’d called it off. The handsome athlete didn’t seem to be acting differently around her, and ended up asking her when they might get together to study. “We can do it anywhere,” he offered, “I mean…studying, you know? Like…if you want to study at your place so Gabi’s around, or at the library, or…I don’t want to make things awkward. Also, I can bring food.”

Between classes, Monica received a text in the group text from Hadley. “Hey all. Back in classes today. Got a thing to take care of at lunch time but thought maybe I’d see you all at Lewiston Hall for dinner tonight? 6:30-ish? No big deal if not. I’ll be around.” Within a few minutes, everyone on the group text had responded in the affirmative.

Monica had figured at the end of the day, she had basically freed Austin up to ... be Austin. It was a relief to see that was the case. She made plans with him to study, then texted that she'd be at Lewiston for dinner. 630 gave her time to get home from work, which was good. She spent most of the day studying, but took an opportunity to email Knapp about the club shooting since she'd met him outside that club, then also looked up the infamous Mr. Paterson Lowell. Maybe he was just a run of the mill douchebag, but maybe he was connected to something. Best to know if she had trouble coming.

It didn’t take long for Monica to find Paterson Lowell, as he was mentioned in a handful of news stories already. Lowell and his two friends, Chris Bridges and Dylan Halford, were arrested and charged with simple assault. The homeless man, Jason Madrigal, was charged with vandalism and petty larceny. Lowell’s lawyer was contending that upon confronting Madrigal after he had broken into Lowell’s car, the 40-something man had attacked them, and that they acted in self-defense, though admittedly each of them were drunk. Chris Bridges, the guy who had run off, also supported this story, though the student Monica had actually punched, Dylan Halford, contradicted their story, saying they had attacked the homeless man once they’d caught him as Monica had observed. In passing, one of the articles mentioned that Lowell was the son of James Lowell, CEO of the Prospect City-based hedge fund Knowlton-Fiennes.

Gabi met Monica outside of the theatre after her work-study shift. Gabi took her hand, warming it against the chill October air as they headed back to their dorm before dinner. “Hey, princesa,” she said, smiling. Monica’s coworker, Sam, was headed out of the building at the same time. He paused momentarily as if surprised, then waved to them before leaving. “How was work?”

In the gap between work and meeting the others, Gabi snacked on a protein bar to tide her over until dinner while she and Monica sat on the couch and discussed their days. After a bit of casual conversation, Gabi’s tone shifted a bit, losing its usual breezy edge. “So…there’s one thing I have to tell you that…I figure I should tell you. Just because…I guess…because it could be awkward.” She looked down at Monica’s feet.

“Remember how I mentioned how I was…with one girl before,” Gabi said, turning so that she was facing her girlfriend now. “It was…Kayla.” As Monica had suspected, it was their once good friend who had seemed to distance herself from Monica not long after Tom had died, the friend who had texted Monica a few weeks ago about potentially getting together the next time she was back in town.

Monica nodded "so. I thought, maybe? given your reaction when I said she'd reached out. I mean, it doesn't really matter to me much. I guess I am curious." She shifted a little "Did she stop talking to me after Tom died because she was into you and she knew you were into me? Like... she assumed that this." she gestured at herself and Gabi "was going to happen so she got herself out of the way? I mean. I can't say I wasn't hurt but it would explain a lot."

She wondered if Gabi, not really understanding what a catch she was, had broken the poor thing's heart. "So what happened there?"

“Okay,” Gabi said, playing with her sleeve. “I’m glad that…that it’s not a big deal.” A look of concern flashed in her dark eyes when she mentioned the rift that had developed between them. “No, no. I don’t…I don’t think it was anything like that. We just kind of…hooked up at Jake Lear’s party,” she said, referring to a party that had taken place in February, about a month before Tom’s death and about a month after Gabi’s 18th birthday. She hadn’t been seeing anyone for a while at that point and had gone with Tom and Monica. “I don’t think she saw it as anything serious. She’d just broken up with Andrew, and she knew I was into you.”

Gabi tugged at her hoodie’s drawstring now. “I was pretty sure it was a one-time thing and then after she iced you out after Tom died, that kind of sealed it. Except…there was one super hot weekend this summer where she invited a few of us to go hang out at her pool. You were definitely not in a pool mood.” Gabi sighed. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think it was right what she did to you, but…I don’t know. I knew I wasn’t going to be seeing her again for a while, and everybody else had left…”

The brown-haired girl looked down at her phone. “I was a little worried she was going to tell you about me before…before I got the chance. She’s not exactly great at keeping secrets.”

"you're fucking adorable" Monica wrapped Gabi up in her arms and kissed her temple "first off, good for you for getting some? I guess?" she laughed and hugged Gabi in close "and you know, like. you can't cheat on me before we start dating so... whatever you did prior to Thursday well. I like that you want to tell me but its really not any of my business if you don't. You get to have your own private life and history angel." She kissed her girlfriend's temple, then rubbed her arm softly. "She kept the gay secret pretty fucking well. So... you know. Don't knock her."

She laughed and ran her fingers through Gabi's hair "Come on beautiful. Lets go eat chicken sandwiches and sit in the loud ass cafeteria with Hadley. She needs us and well, I'm glad she's at least brave enough to be a little social. As for secrets well, we can be as public or not as you choose." She tilted Gabi's chin up, then kissed her full lips, sighing as she felt the exquisite softness of her perfect feminine mouth. "Come on." She stood up, taking Gabi's hand "It's a long walk. We don't want to be late."

Gabi’s facial expression and body language showed her relief, and when Monica placed a kiss on her lips, the Latina wrapped her arms around her. “Mmm…you do owe me some making out,” she said teasingly. “I’m okay with telling people about us. I mean, I’m really happy to tell people! I just want to let everybody know not to post pics of us together-together to social media until I tell my family.”

As Gabi went to grab her light coat for the walk, Monica received an email from Detective Knapp. “Hey. Sorry I haven’t been answering as quick as usual. I will get you some info on this tonight. Hope all is good with you. Cheers.”

A minute later, Monica and Gabi walked down the paths to the dining hall. When they arrived, they glimpsed Hadley sitting with Porter and Layla. Gabi smiled at Monica, still keeping her girlfriend’s hand intertwined with their own as they walked over. “Hey,” Hadley said, a wide smile on her face.

“I know you’re probably not a hugger but you are getting totally hugged,” Gabi said, slipping around the table. The glasses-wearing girl stood, a little hesitantly, but then gave in as Gabi hugged her. “So good to see you,” Monica’s girlfriend said.

Hadley looked over at Monica. “Well, I guess we’re doing this,” she said with a wry smile, then opened up her arms to give Monica a hug. A few minutes later, Nick arrived.

“So, it feels like I’ve been gone for ten months,” Hadley said. “What did I miss? What’s new?” Nick and Layla began to get her caught up on a few campus happenings. Gabi looked at Monica, a glint of excitement in her eyes, and gave her hand a soft squeeze.

Monica worried her lip a minute "uh... this" she gestured at her and Gabi "Uh. This is new. I mean, maybe a long time coming. But uh. you know. It's a thing. it wasn't a thing before so its new" She kept her hand in Gabi's, squeezing softly "So uh. We're having a little gathering for halloween, similar in size to our game night. So the lot of you should come. If you're up for it. I'll get Austin to get us some beer. He still needs physics help so... he's still a hook up."

She smiled at Hadley, glad the girl seemed ok. It probably helped a good bit that she had been doped up for the whole thing. She probably didn't want to talk about it at all, and Moncia wasn't about to push her. She was also starving. "Lets go in and get some food huh? its cold out here and I need to eat. I'm building sets and you know, working with your hands makes you hungry." Though, to be fair, everything made her hungry.

As they made their way in "So anyone else have anything new going on? not everything is about Gabi and I and our forbidden love."

“Wow, this is major news,” Hadley observed. “Who asked who? I need the deets. At some point. No pressure.”

“Yeah, and if you could all just not, like, post about us being a couple or post any pics of us together on social, I still need to get around to telling my family I like girls,” Gabi said, still beaming at Monica.

“Sure thing,” Hadley said, and the others agreed as well.

When Monica asked what else was new and the group made their way over to the food line, Nick said, “Well, speaking of sinning in the eyes of the Lord, I’ve got a date with a cute guy this Thursday.”

“You finally asked Curtis out?” Layla asked.

“What do you mean finally? I was just spending the last year or so carefully planting the seeds of his seduction,” Nick remarked.

“Ooh, do you have a pic of this cutie?” Gabi inquired.

Nick showed her a pic of a shy-looking but admittedly cute young guy with reddish-brown hair. “Hey, good job,” she said, nudging him playfully with her fist.

Porter was typically reticent, but Layla was in a sharing mood. “Um, there’s a pretty neat Edward Hopper exhibit at the Wilkes,” Layla noted, referring to the Wilkes Museum of Fine Art, the largest such institution in the city. “We went there for one of my drawing classes and got to sketch after hours when there weren’t any people there aside from the staff and some guards. It was really cool.” Tom had had only three posters on the wall of the single he’d somehow managed to finagle as a freshman in the dorms: posters for Pacific Rim and Aliens, and Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks. It was still pretty thoroughly entrenched in the “paintings that are dorm room poster classics” genre, but she’d remembered being surprised that he’d gone for it and had asked him why one night as she rested her head on his solid chest.

“Not really sure,” he’d said. When she’d pressed him, playfully, he added, “I’ll tell you, but you can’t make fun of me. I guess it in a way is like…both sides of living in the city? There’s like that…feeling of no one knowing you are, which is—it’s kind of freeing, right? You can be anybody in this new place. But at the same time it’s lonely. You’re just one face out of a million.” He gave her hip an affectionate squeeze, then tilted her chin gently toward him for a kiss. “See, I can get downright brooding if you don’t make it out here often enough.”

“Well, that Halloween party sounds sound like an awesome idea,” Hadley said, snapping Monica back to the present. “Bummed that we have to do Parents’ Weekend this weekend but I guess it means we can go all out after midterms.”

“Mon and I were talking about some costume ideas and figured you’d know the best places to hit,” Gabi said.

“Absolutely,” Hadley replied.

Monica felt the pang of Tom's loss. The physical sense of pain, tightness in her chest, the crushing feeling of loneliness that lurked always under the surface, now tinged with guilt that she could miss him so much while she was sitting next to Gabi. She felt fucked up for that. Like everything was a betrayal of both of them at once. She did what Centauri always did, at least from her experience, and shoved it all down to turn into trauma. Schooling her face she nodded, offering only "Tom really loved Hopper. Ian still has his poster I think." She sipped at her Dr. Pepper, then popped a fry into her mouth. Dorm food was fattening, but for her it was just maintenance thank god. Something about that painting was tugging at her.

As they chattered about hitting up Founder's Square, something about Nighthawks at the Diner was still pricking at her mind. As the others talked and she stared off into space, she was reminded of something she'd seen in among her mother's things. A picture of her in her cadet uniform, dress blacks with a brilliant purple stylized bird of pray, pinions flared, talons extended, screaming downward. The house motto, something she couldn't quite remember, was written beneath. That was it. The Nighthawk... now. How to go about getting that name out. Giving yourself a nickname was questionable, but at the same time... If she let the public name her she'd be Vigilante McVigilanteface.

There was also the issue of quiet Porter. She suspected he had a bit of a thing for her, and so the Gabi news might not be great for him. She hoped it didn't derail the burgeoning confidence and the self care he'd started. She wondered if that was arrogant but at the same time, she suspected that her kindness to him had a hand in the fact he was getting himself together.

As the evening went on, the group’s dynamics were reestablished almost as if Hadley had never been away, though Porter was maybe even a bit less effusive than usual. “Did I miss anything in Alex’s class today?” Hadley asked. “We should figure out a time to study for the mid-term.” This morning, Townes had revealed a bit about the format of the exams.

As Monica and Gabi made their way out together, Gabi stopped off to chat with Layla. Nick walked past Monica and patted her on the shoulder. “Glad for you two,” he said, his tone uncommonly earnest.

Afterwards, Gabi took Monica’s hand once more. “I’d like to check out that museum exhibit sometime. Kind of a bummer you’ll be getting out when it closes every day. Maybe we can drag the parents there. Does your dad like art?”

It was quarter to 9 when they returned to their apartment. Knapp had sent Monica an email:

“About the nightclub shooting: we have reason to suspect the two shooters might be linked to the Imperial just because random rumors say he’s been moving on the turf of the Volki (Federov’s organization) and Las Manos Rojas. Right now, we really have shit. The first guys who so much as let out a whisper about the Imp were Eric McCabe and Damon Collier who were linked to a hit of two Russians. Collier’s disappeared and McCabe was murdered.

We really have nothing to go on about the club shooting (Collier might be involved but we’re guessing he split town because the Imperial heard he floated his name). We do know they spent a lot of time at Blue Sofia. That’s the fancy ass nightclub I mentioned. I’m not on the case but if I were, I would probably start with either the co-owners or the club itself.

For co-owners, you’ve got Isabelle Kiel who was married to some rich guy who died under let’s say mysterious circumstances while kayaking. Then you’ve got Christian Antanopoulos, a Greek national who splits his time between the old country, France, and Prospect City. Fuck me if I know why he even steps foot in this city.

Just be careful. You already pissed this mystery dude (or woman I know my daughter would yell at me) off once but hopefully he’s got bigger fish to fry in the meantime.”

The email included addresses for Blue Sofia along with the two co-owners, all in trendy or ritzy parts of Prospect City. Gabi slipped her arms over Monica’s shoulders from behind. “I’ve got some serious studying to do,” she said. “Did you want to come to the library with me for a change of scenery? I’ll show you my favorite hidey-hole to hunker down in.”

"Gabi, is that a double entendre?" Monica waggled her eyebrows playfully at her girlfriend, then leaned back, resting her head against Gabi's shoulders and feeling the soft crush of her against her back. "mmmmm that feels nice. Yeah I should study. It is Monday night. Even Ne'er do wells generally don't go out on Mondays. I have some stuff to do for you know, my other thing... but not tonight" she tugged Gabi's arms a little tighter around her and closed her eyes.

"I think Porter has a thing for me and I hope he's ok. I mean at the end of the day that's his thing and not mine to worry about. Like, the heart wants what it wants and mine wants you. Still, He's a sweet kid. I hope he keeps eating right and working out and stuff. There's a catch in there, I know it. He just needs to know it." She brushed her fingers along Gabi's arm "So. I guess since the cat is kind of out of the bag we can involve Layla but... talking about that painting, Nighthawks at the diner... well my mom .." She pulled away and grabbed a piece of paper. Growing up the daughter of an artist she wasn't awful at it, though she wasn't Layla "Her house symbol was like this bird made up of geometric shapes" She drew the outline of what looked like a predatory bird in flight, descending with claws out. "Except all made up of like, stylized shapes. like Rhombuses and shit. So I was thinking maybe. If you don't think its dumb. Because I'm keenly like, aware that self nicknames tend to be dumb... I was thinking maybe I'd be ... The Nighthawk. You know. In case there's like... another superhero some day."

Gabi grinned and twirled a lock of Monica’s hair. “No, but there’s apparently a spot on the 4th floor where people make out and do…other things,” she said with a sly smile. “Don’t worry. My spot’s on the 3rd floor.”

“I think he’ll be okay,” Gabi said. “We should try to set him up with Layla! They’d be adorable together. I think. I don’t really know either of them that well and you know more about Porter than me. Anyway, he’ll find somebody. It’s a big school,” she added, running her fingers down Monica’s neck now.

“I like it,” Gabi said. “You can’t be a proper superhero without a codename.” She nuzzled Monica’s ear and then tugged on her lobe a bit with her teeth before kissing her jawline. “Come on, Nighthawk. Let’s get some studying in before I get completely distracted by how freaking sexy you are.”

About ten minutes later, the two roommates were on the third floor of the library, Gabi leading the way to a cluster of carrels tucked away in a lightly traveled area. “Ooh, there are two desks next to each other,” she said in a low volume, making her way over and beginning immediately to unpack her laptop. There were two other students nearby, but the partitions separating the desks concealed Monica and Gabi once they were seated. The Latina slipped in her earbuds and got to work.

As she studied, Gabi occasionally glanced and smiled at Monica, reaching over for a quick squeeze of her hand.

Monica squeezed Gabi's hand, then threw herself into studying. She had to remember she wasn't in college for fighting and fucking. She was there to actually get the skills to make a difference in the world on a different level. To make things, useful things that improved everyone's lives. She really hit physics hard, as she was going to have to get Austin through it too. That meant she had to have it cold. She wasn't sure what was going on with psych. Were they all just getting a pass? was there going to be a new instructor? she decided to take that light, working mostly on her engineering class. She emailed Townes as well, offering to do the podcast this week.

After a few hours, she decided she needed some food. "I'm getting a snack. Wanna come with me or should I come back and collect you after?"

“Could you bring me a chocolate chip cookie?” Gabi asked, sliding Monica her ID card for payment. “I’ll watch our stuff. Thanks, carino.”

As Monica waited in line, she received an email response from Townes.

“Hi, Monica. Hope all is well. I’m available Wednesday or Thursday evening any time after 7:00. Let me know what works for you.”

By the time Gabi and Monica left the library, it was a little before 11. “So…date night this week,” Gabi said. “They’re doing like a horror movie marathon thingy on campus Thursday night. What do you think?” She slipped an arm around Monica and kissed her cheek, her warm lips a sharp contrast to the October air. “I’ll probably be a total wimp and need to hold your hand through the whole thing. Unless you had in something else in mind for this week.”

Monica hmmmed, as she'd thought maybe they'd spend the night in on Thursday. That could wait though. Though she was starting to regret all the waiting. "Yeah we can do that." She slipped her hand into Gabi's "What time are your parents coming up Friday? My dad is working a half day I think." She brushed her thumb along Gabi's hand "Since I have class in the morning" She led them home, though her eyes constantly darted for danger along the way. At the apartment she changed into a big shirt for sleeping, since it was late by the time they got home. "you coming to bed?"

“They’re coming sometime around 4:00, I think,” Gabi noted.

After Monica had changed into her sleep shirt, Gabi grinned. “Yep! Just give me a couple minutes, querida.” A few minutes later, the brunette sauntered in, also dressed in a sleep shirt, hers a typically girly, pinkish hue. There was a hint of mischief in her coffee-colored eyes. She climbed onto the foot of the bed, resting her weight on her bare knees. “We did a lot of adulting today. I think we need to reward ourselves a little.”

Gabi crawled toward Monica now, weight still on her knees as her legs straddled her girlfriend. The Latina leaned over, and lowered her face, her hair acting as dark curtains that blocked out much of the light in the room. “Kiss me, baby.” Her warm hands held Monica’s cheeks as Gabi’s lovely lips pressed against her chin, then her lower lip, then both lips. Monica could taste her best friend’s salted caramel lip balm.

Gabi draped her arms over Monica’s shoulders now. The dark-haired girl parted her lips and teased Monica’s tongue with her own. Brushing away some golden locks, Gabi slowly slid her tongue along her girlfriend’s.

"Well I was going to say its late and we should get some sleep but ok I guess." She grinned and tugged Gabi in close. She brushed her nose around Gabi's, picking up the caramel scent mixed with Gabi's natural scent. She cupped Gabi's face, brushing her fingers along her cheeks, then sucked at each lip, pulling at the upper, then the lower. Her tongue slipped out to slide around Gabi's, tracing around her tongue with her own. Her fingers slid into her hair, feeling the silken softness of it. She cupped the back of her head, drawing her in, holding her curvy body against her. She kissed then along her jaw to her neck, pulling with her lips just below the ear "You're so beautiful, Corazon." She slid one hand under Gabi's top, sliding along her back, tracing the soft skin and the line of her spine. She slides her hand down, cupping her ass and kneading it. She kept her touch soft, aware of how fragile Gabi is compared to her strength. She sucked softly at her earlobe, then flicked her tongue along the ridges. She blew softly across and then kissed back to Gabi's lips. She slid her hand around, cupping a breast under Gabi's shirt, brushing her thumb across the nipple. "So beautiful and soft."
