I'm sure more than several people here have them, and even more than that amount enjoy them! I'm just curious as to the simple questions, how often after you get them done are they still sensitive to pain, what sorts of chemicals you should use to keep them clean, what sorts of play are interesting after you've had them done and are comfortable with them, etc. I'm getting mine done soon hopefully, and any advice or stories you could share with me would be appreciated.

So, basically, this is an open thread about nipple piercings. lol :p

i suggest an antibiotic soap with no scents or anything added to it. they sell some at the shop i get my piercings done in. i don't know if that's specific for nipple piercings, but it's what i've done for mine.

my g/f uses the liquid dial soap and she says that works for her.

Before/After pics would be nice if possible.

I've got both nipples pierced.

My piercing place gave me an alcohol gel and it worked fine.

They tell you not to touch them at all for about a month. It takes a few months before you can fully appreciate them though. Your piercer should give you all the advice you need.

Warm/hot salt water.

It's cheap, it's easy and it works just as well if not better than any sprays or lotions.

I used warm/hot salty water on all of my piercings and they all healed really quickly and never got infected.

I'm with Salendire, warm sea salt soaks work the best.

And yes your piercer will tell you all about the do's/dont's of your new piercing (assuming you go to a really reputable one, which you should.)

I've had mine pierced for almost 2 years and I've never had any major issues with them. My nipples were never that sensitive to begin with, so I never saw any huge difference with their sensitivity, but they definitely made me a heck of a lot prouder of them. I don't do any salt soaks anymore, but everyday in the shower I just wash them with antibacterial dial soap which is the best. Avoid anything with alcohol (it will destroy the healing tissue) or any of the cleansers used for cuts (neosporin, bactine, etc.) Those are not meant for puncture wounds, which is exactly what a piercing is.

Other than that, enjoy your new piercings, you won't regret it!
