International Ataxia Awareness Day...

hello all... Please pass this alongPlease pass this along I wonder how many would read this... and then they are at least aware that ataxia exists... I know that if I sent this to you... and you send it to all your "peeps" and then they send it to their list of online friends... just imagine the multiplication factor perhaps infinatly cycling through the web...
I am just wodering how to keep a sort of have the abilitty to send me an email message... jusrt confirming they reeceived... and if I chose that there has top be a huge email account...

so... instead I am going to ask anyone reading this to snail mail just a peice of paper that indicates that you have received it... I know that this requires more effort, obviously, as clicking a mouse compared to actually preparing and sending a hard copy... I understand that will cut the number of replies, yet a snail mail box is much easier to gather how many, and origin, end up...

so...

just to let ya'll know what is goin on in my life... which familes do... I have been dx'd with something called Ataxia... basically the condition gives my body control, ignores my desires to go this or that way... I end up staggering, fallling and balance and coordination are not very cooperative...

another reason I am writing this message is because this upcoming Sunday, Sept 25th happens to be International Ataxia Awareness Day... this is the sxith anual Awareness Day... I have been working on getting the governor of UT to sign a declaration that proclaims the 25th of Sept will be ataxia awareness day for the state of UT as well as the international from National Ataxia Foundation...

and they can be accessed online at www.ataxia.org...
ataxia is a rare and fatal condition... from my understandings in the reasearch I have done there is a very huge posibility that I will need a wheelchair...
I am very frustrated... on top of my previous other conditions, loosing my ability to walk has me feeling dependent, where I have always at least had control of MY muscels, limbs and other body parts... I also have had a hug drop in myconcentration and short term memory problems...

the condition is so rare that I have more information about ataxia than my "ataxia specializeed nerologist"... in the next 2 or 3 months I will be assessed and dx'd at the University of Utah Hospital where they have an MDA clinic and actually are currently working at assesment and hopefully to find a cure... to date there is no cure or tx other than bein depended on medical assisted items, re: canes, walkers and wheelchairs...

butt... (you know I had to at least do my internationally recognized trademark)

please get online... email me... visit an MDA clinic or very well versed medical team that are intimately involved in the ataxias... Sept 25th is the actual desinated day, and you can do more research before or after... I don't think there are any ataxia awareness police who will arrest you for splurging in this day...

Also... I am needing to get the proper dx of ataxia as I have been denied both SSDI beneifts and LTD benefits through my ex-employer... which means that from Jan to the present, I have been unable to work at all... which then creates problems paying for life stuff ie: rent, gas, electricity, telephone and on and on... funds needed basically in order to live... the state does help with foodstamps and a stipend of a couple hundred dollars per month...

so... my survival to feed myself is not a problem... however, paying 515.00 for rent... a hundred or so in utilities, paper and other needed staples... and on and on...

so... hence my anticipation of being dx'd correctly, and to document my specific ataia and danger of falling, dropping stagering etc... I live alone, so that has been a catch 22...( what the hell does catch 22 mean?) Since I do live alone no one else sees the trips, stagers, falls etc... and they put in the denial that all I needed to do is to use a cane... it simply is not anywhere near enough to sustain me... I also have a walker...

since one of the symptoms of axatia is lack of balance & coordintation, appearing as someone under the influence of alcohol or other drugs... I designed a t-shirt graphic to help others understand why I am appearing as a drunk or drug user...

just to clarify... even though this desease is rare and serious, I am in no way of even being close to the possible fatal end...

the most that hurts now is just having to ask for and depend upon others, therby losing the freedom and independence that I have always had...

another thing that I miss is not being able to continue my bliss any more... the bliss being the immense love that I have experienced... the gratification of helping those in need... it really was a problem when I first began stumbling and staggering while still employed in my profession as a Substance Abuse Counselor... young people don't need to see the counselor looking as if under the influence, bumping and bouncing off the walls...

and what I originally wanted to post here pretty much was covered by the 1st part of this message... and yet my fingers were not cooperating and kept on striking the keyboard keys...

I am going to apply one of those to a t-shirt... then I will takce a pic of the whole shebang...

I am not likiing things here very much... yet I still am alive and clean ond sober...
