haha. though there are a lot of mature women in science fiction and fantasy literature, ok maybe not as characters, but instead behind the scenes writing it. though I guess, given the major influx of women authors into the genre over the past 30 years, it is interesting how women are still generally portrayed as either extremely strong and kick ass but with a high amount of masculine traits or young, naive, and sexy.

Well that maybe a question for the female authors as to why. and LOL. I will be honest, I have only skimmed the books quickly (my step mother wanted them as a gift, and I had bought them with like a day to spare) and I haven't watched the movies at all, but I have seen some screenshots and clips. I just don't get the appeal, well other than the obvious of hot and rich, but yeah, I would recommend against hitting me with a belt lol. if it actually hurts, then i'd probably be hitting someone back with a lamp, while yelling some choice words, and then the trip to the ER for stitches etc. Not a hot and sexy scene, the ER is never a hot and sexy scene lol. but I guess to each his own

That reminds me of a funny story a friend of mine told.
