NRA Woes, Wayne Worried!

NRA claims court-appointed oversight of their funds would destroy the whole organization

During their bankruptcy proceedings Tuesday, the National Rifle Association (NRA) claimed that if a trustee is appointed to oversee the funds during the bankruptcy proceedings, it will destroy the NRA.

Under Wayne LaPierre's leadership, the organization spent millions of funds on his personal needs, along with lavish vacations and travel along with private air flights.

"The process Mr. LaPierre followed to file this bankruptcy case is itself a master class in bad faith and dishonest conduct," said Assistant New York Attorney General Monica Connell, claiming LaPierre hid the bankruptcy plan from the NRA board members and its general counsel.

NRA bankruptcy trial reveals strange expenditure marked 'Russia'

A bizarre moment happened in the bankruptcy trial of the National Rifle Association (NRA) Wednesday. According to Law and Crime News investigative reporter Adam Klasfeld, who is there live-tweeting the proceedings, a Russia reference popped up in an odd place.

Looking at expenditures from the NRA, the Brewer law firm sent the NRA an invoice to general counsel John Frazer's office in 2020 for $59,155.25. It was marked "Russia."

Firm Ackerman McQueen, the NRA's former PR firm before their falling out, questioned the Frazer about it while he was testifying on the stand. There was an objection, "citing confidentiality," said Klasfeld. Judge Harlin Hale struck the questions about it from the record.

Frazer previously testified that he was unaware of the NRA's Chapter 11 filing. He didn't find out about it until the day of the bankruptcy.

The trial has been a disaster for the NRA, which has exposed more corruption and lavish spending than previously known. One thing, in particular, was that NRA president Wayne LaPierre lived aboard a 108-foot luxury, massive, luxury yacht after the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The Judge needs to appoint and overseer on the NRA's finances and open up the books to see how much Wayne has grifted off the Members in the last 20 years!

I'd like to se Wayne in orange and handcuffs! :):)

When you tell a judge that giving a responsible adult authority to audit your books and oversee spending will "destroy" the entire organization, you're basically confessing that you're a criminal organization that cannot function under the scrutiny of somebody who expects you to obey the law.

NRA’s LaPierre Voiced Fear of Prison Time

A former confidant of Wayne LaPierre said that the longtime NRA leader feared the prospect of criminal charges and once described the gun group’s attorney William Brewer as “the only one” who could keep him out of prison.

LaPierre made the comment at a meeting in early 2019, Anthony Markis said Friday at the NRA’s bankruptcy trial. Markis, a senior executive at the ad agency Ackerman McQueen, said LaPierre made the comment amid a contentious breakup between the NRA and the firm.

Markis testified that he asked LaPierre at the meeting why he was turning his back on everyone who’d helped him over the years in favor of Brewer and his Dallas law firm. LaPierre responded that “Bill Brewer is the only one who can keep me out of jail,” Markis said.

NRA is a grift machine, and the grifters are crying "don't take The Precious (Wayne LaPierre)"

In a covertly recorded conference call, NRA leaders such as Wayne LaPierre and Marion Hammer can be heard ridiculing their membership who they said were “fruitcakes, “hillbillies”, “idiots” and “wackos”.

Libertarian...the new lie...I am a Libertarian, so nothing they do reflects on me. Sure i voted for Trump...but his policies don't reflect on my beliefs. Yet no matter what the topic is...no matter which thread...there they are defending the actions of the Republican party...and not the Libertarian party. How can this be?

I don't know many Republicans the voted for Trump. Although they did applaud some of his deregulation, and later criticized his tariffs.

Fortunately the gun grabbers have been in retreat since Obama left office. The federal judiciary at the district, circuit, and SCOTUS levels are all much more in tune with 2A thanks to national heroes President Trump and Senator McConnell, and we have a big case on the SCOTUS docket this term. At the same time, the fellowship of gun owners keeps getting bigger and bigger. Shout out to the NRAILA for the fantastic work you’re doing in CA at at the national level. And thanks to the Lesbo and the Cuban for bumping this thread. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
