Update: I am now selling my work on Deviantart.com. To view and order prints of my work, you will need a membership, but it is free. Its kinda like the illustrated version of Lit. You can join, but you don't need to post anything. Anyways, to anybody who made requests or who's drawings I've sketched. Your sketches are not up for sale. I do not have your permission and so will not sell anything with your image on it. Don't worry, I will respect your privacy. However, if you would like a print, let me know and we'll work something out. Also, they sell other things like mugs and mouse pads with my work on them. And if anybody would like to volunteer for a sketch, again, just let me know and we'll work something out.

some pointers

it's good that you like drawing and that you've got talent.

Now you've got to practice correctly to develop it properly. I find two major things screwing with your work:

a) perspective (and solids)
b) anatomy

You're going to have to put about 100 drawing hours into perspective, solids and shading and another 100 into human anatomy, working with some good manuals. Then you're really going to be able to draw closer to what you *see* in your mind's eye.

It's a bitch, but if you want your art to really look the way you *see* it, it takes work, effort, sweat, eraser bits and so forth.

For drawing human figures, I recommend Loomis' books (google about a bit, you can get some free ebooks, because it's out of print). For anatomy I recommend Grey's for in depth, or some lighter books (like the Leonardo series) for a start. For perspective and solids, well ... I don't know what to recommend, but there are books on that too.

Much joy on the sketching road!

PS - oh yeah, and live drawing. Also useful for practice, once you master the aforementioned basics.
