Just so I never offend the GB Gods - umm..how many threads is it acceptable for one to start in:
- a twenty-four hour period
- a week
- a month
before the waiter would have to evict you for bad table manners?

You know, someone(I forget who)said in another thread that starting more then two threads a day is starting too many. I'm serious about that one. It's an older thread though. From last summer I believe. So, I guess that a lot of members here are guilty of doing that. The most threads I've started in a day is ten. Looks like I'm screwed, but not in a good way. lol

Heh, you should have seen Todd in his Bobtoad777 days. Especialy in September when he was trying to break the record for reaching 1000 posts the fastest.

I believe it was decided that we could start as many threads as we like as long as they arent all silly threads!
Siren-- where are you?? You are the expert!

I don't think it's the number of threads you start, but the combination of the number of the threads you start and the content. Nightlight's recent hello to all the newbies is one example. He flooded the board with what amounts to tripe. Not because he wanted to say hello to newbies, but because he wanted to be an ass.

If he'd had something interesting to say (he ever so rarely does), that would be different. It wouldn't be flooding the board. Starting dozens of threads for the purpose of saying "hi!" to one person is straight rude. How many pages did you have to scroll back to find something interestnig? How much time did you have to waste figuring out that Nightlight was saying absolutely nothing and clogging up the boards? It's flat rude and he knows it.

And did anyone do anything to break up my string of uninteresting threads?

Nope.
It was me.
Or Something New And Different.
And that was about it.

When asked to stop, I did.
But I would have stopped a lot earlier if anyone else had provided an alternative.
No one did.
Well, now you've got a month to do so.
Good luck.

Personaly, I'd rather read a bunch of silly threads rather then the fights that were going on for awhile. Wow! Did anyone else notice the cycle change has begun yet again? Just a week ago we were complaining that the board was too serious. Now, we're once again complaining that there's too much sillyness going on like we did back in January. Deja Vu.

I'd have to agree with KM on this, as usual. LOL If you've got some interesting things to say, or issues to discuss, knock yourself out. Start as many threads as you want. Most of us would love to discuss or at least read something interesting and/or intelligent.

And I gotta say, Renegade, knock it off with posting just a . Either say something or don't reply at all.

Oh, I was doing that to move the threads pushed back last night back to the front page. I tried to avoid doing that with the threads that I had something to say in. But I used it so to move them back up when I didn't have anything to add to the conversation. Siren told me to move the threads back up. *points finger of blame at her* lol

My apologies, Renegade.

You see, I start at the end of the threads and work forward to the most recent. So I had to go back to page 3 to find the threads that were continued after I went to bed last night. And mostly what I found were . So I figured you were padding your posts. I'm sorry for blaming you for it.

Since you were just doing as La Siren commanded, you want a cookie? :)

Cookie?

Sure thing. :D

Well, I was the one that ended up pushing down a few threads last night by responding to Nitelights newbie ones, so I got stuck with having to pull the others back up. lol

Bro, two words...

 Sex Maniac

That boy was a Guru in like only one month, back in Dec '00.

Anyway, back to the original question. It's a free word. Post as much as you want. Fuck 'em if someone doesn't like your posts. So fuckin' what? Basically, if you don't piss off Laurel (it is HER site) then you're doing good! :D lol This is a (for lack of better words) porn site, not C-Span or some shit.

LOL Why did you have to bring HIM into the conversation?

;)

We need Pooh back, and then we can start up a new batch of incest threads! lol

LMAO Remember when the board was flooded with incest threads and people had to post in the threads just to say they hated 'em? Ah, the memories. *Sniff* *Sniff* ;)

You missed a remarkable opportunity RN, you could have posted something of substance instead of your unending litany of "Hi y'alls." Who knows, you could have started an interesting thread that we'd all have enjoyed. Instead, folks were throwing stones at you or commiserating about the death of interesting threads.

I agree with KM and April, it doesn't matter so much how often you initiate a thread. Post something engaging and everyone will be happy, no matter how many times you do it. But please, please restrain yourself if you're suffering from logorrhea.

log•or•rhe•a (lô1gú-rT2ú, lÄg1ú-) n. 1. Excessive use of words.

Nice word isn't it. ;)

April

LOL I noticed that before I sent another post in to the word game thread. :D
