O.k righties, who was the last great republican president?

No one wants to talk about all the great presidents that the republican party has given us. They just want to throw shit at Barry. Which I guess proves the point that the best defense is a good offense. If you keep throwing shit at Barry, maybe no one will notice how badly the republicans fucked things up.

No, it proves you can't read.

david, DAVID

You are cracking up

Are you COLORED?

I'm willing to venture that Bush was a great president. If you filter out all the noise, there is a pretty decent signal in there. He definitely was navigating in some new uncharted waters.

I might even say that Bush the Elder was a great president. Considering that economic policies typically will see a 2-3 year lag between implementation and results, the first term economic prosperity that people give Clinton credit for may well have been engineered by Bush. Following that logic, Bush Jr. was staring down a contracting economy when he walked into the White House in 2000. The events of 2001 and the resultant spending could easily be categorized as a stimulus plan under the camouflage of a war. That would still probably qualify as trickle down economics and overall, the economy didn't slip too much further until 2007/2008. I'm not sure that anyone could have prevented that mess.

It's sort of an open ended argument with no real right answers. The concept of "great" is simply too general a term.

I dont want your revisionist history.

You have no appreciation for the fact he stayed up all night researching his anti-Reagan talking points on the Huff and the daily Kos.

I didn't have to stay up all night studing the Reagan era...I was there. I was a major supporter of Senator Warren Rudman. We didn't like Reagan's deficent spending...trickle down economics.

Bush 1...way too easy...You have to give me soemthing better than that.

Not only do republicans not have any new ideas, history shows that their ideas on economics were seriously flawed.

Righties?

Isn't that a bit lacking in nuance for the "educated" and "erudite" thinkers which predominate in Democratic circles?

Or are you one of Rahm's "fucking retards?"

Right handed people?
I used to be left handed but now, for obvious reasons, I am right handed.

"dumming?"

Don't you mean dumbing?

pfft!

Piss poor education system, huh? Yeah, you sure got that right.

I never claimed to be highly educated. Only Highly paid for my skills and knowledge of my choosen profession. I am also damn good at my job and been doing it since you was in first grade. So I misspell some words thats life

That should be you were in the first grade.

Besides I think you should retire. There are plenty of girls working that corner and I think you are kinda bringing down the vibe in the area. You may give the best gumjob in town but at this point you should be an appointment only kinda girl.

If you can't claim evidence of a better education than the "Democratic" one you're ragging on, then you have no room whatsoever to talk shit about it, do you? If your brain is so much smarter than the other, then you take the bank from your ass to pay for your mouth's checks and show for it. If you can't do that, then you get your cards pulled, no excuses. End of story.

Speaking of first grade, I most likely had better vocabulary skills than you even back then. Because I knew my "choosen" profession would require as much from me. Now that's life in a big-ass pizza pie, Papa John. You can go back to talking more bullshit about education now.

Obama....

I don't think any president has given big banks as much money as he has...

What a dumbfuck. The banks got money under the first bailout under bush.

Make plans to go to Nashville for the big teabagger getdown. You and your big target chin and third grade education belong there.

I think that "great" is a difficult adjective to pair with "Republican." Nevertheless, I think that the last decent Republican president was probably Eisenhower (John Foster Dulles notwithstanding); at least he warned us about the looming military-industrial complex.

As far as a truly "great" Republican president, I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and nominate Abe Lincoln, as keeping the Union together and championing the humanity of African-Americans are pretty decent resume builders.
