While I agree that your contextual quote blunts his, he did specifically say "paperback version" and it would be interesting to see the publishing history in order for that paragraph.
If his quote come from an edition where your fuller quote was lacking (not saying it did) then your fuller quote was simply a little PR work to clean up what he actually said.
If not, then Busy is simply quoting out of context, which would surprise no one.
