I'm not against background checks. My husband has to go through one for his concealed carry permit. It's prudent to check for citizenship, outstanding felonies, etc. They shouldn't try to use this to gain access to personal medical histories or which political party you may be affiliated with. The question about which offenses should keep someone from buying a gun...that's a much better discussion.
Your comment about "not 4 terrorists" is dumb, as you know and doesn't require an answer.

You gave me my belief, stated it as fact, although nowhere did I say I believe people with a mental illness should own a firearm. You then used your "deductive reasoning" since you believe you think like the majority of Americans and can speak for them, to let me know that they are all against it. None of this answers my question.

Also your statement was not for mental illness but you said crazy people. They are not the same. You qualify for either and I hope you are searching your drawers and lockboxes to turn over any weapon you own.
Ptsd qualifies as a mental illness so the next time you pass the VA hospital, make sure you go tell anyone who might be affected to turn over their firearms as well.
