"The... Conflict. Needs to exist." Adam could her that her voice was a bit unsteady as she spoke; struggling with the device throbbing inside of her. "People have opposing thoughts continuously. Always have w-ways of engaging the other side. Two parties need to exist. Even if they can't seem to get along." A visible gulp as she looked down at Adam. "Some people find they enjoy the power that comes from their side of it... Try to over use it at the worst possible times."
Another message. Adam's smirk could've easily been mistaken for a smile at her boldness at directly challenging him while addressing Kendaway's point. The former member of congress seemed a bit taken aback by how she'd illustrated her point, but nevertheless she continued on, as did Adam.
Rewarding his teasing student by turning the dial up one more level on the device. Punishing her impudence. He wished he could be closer to her, to push her as he had during their encounters so far, bringing her to the brink and then pulling it away from her; at this distance, he would have to use crude estimations at where her arousal was, assuming she was at all. Adam didn't want to risk discovery; either of her having something 'wrong' with her, or of what he was doing to her. Still, the rising level of his arousal bade him to leave it on for another minute before turning it off again.
Which he left off until the end of the lecture, 10 minutes later. "Everyone, let's thank Miss Kendaway for her time and for sharing her experiences with us today." The typical tepid, on-command applause from most of the class, but enough suckups and people actually interested in the subject clapped with real enthusiasm. It made Sophie smile enough that he was sure she'd be back next semester; which was one of two things Adam was looking to get out of this class; he briefly laid a hand on his colleague's shoulder before turning back to his students.
"We won't be testing on anything from today's lecture, as it was meant for you all to enjoy; sometimes it's easy to get more out of a lesson if you know it won't be marked, or graded." Another easy smile. "After all, I'm sure you think I'm testing you all on enough things already." The muttered chuckles that went through the class signalled that maybe he'd made one joke too many today, and he looked over the class again before speaking.
"Class dismissed."

Adam hung up the phone with a sigh; grateful for the privacy in his office as he'd had in on speakerphone, which he didn't like doing with the risk of a colleague or student dropping it. But it was past office hours, and most of his coworkers were gone for the day. He and Rente had gotten into a discussion about an upcoming seminar, and who he should send...they'd immediately dismissed Adam as a candidate, which both comforted and infuriated him at the same time.
He didn't want to go, but it wasn't as if he didn't want to be considered for it. Already later then he'd hoped to be, Adam hurriedly shoved items into his bag; he had much to do at home.
To get ready for a certain someone's arrival.
