Official Crime and Punishment 2025 Story Event Support Thread

I'm going to leave it in Pending because it really doesn't work for a Halloween tale, and I also already pulled and resubmitted it once (all before the original deadline). I also secretly hope that when the glitch resolves, however it does, they re-bump the Crime & Punishment anthology page to the front page with all the submissions. The current anthology page was actually published before the official publication date originally announced for the challenge, so I thought it was a "first installment" of a sort, done because they had a lot of entries. If I'm wrong, so it goes. It does seem odd to me that many more "normal" (non-challenge) submissions have continued to roll out in the same category (BDSM) where I submitted my challenge entry

Yeah, it's frustrating that the challenge is currenly invisible. I've left my (second) story sitting there in pending too.

I guess I'm being stubborn to the point of denial at this point. I'll pull it in another couple of days. So many other stories in the same category have been posted now. Not sure why submitting to a challenge ended up with it being stuck in eternal limbo. And it was another long one, likely 8-9 Lit pages.

I think something else is going on. There has been ZERO activity on social media sites (Bluesky and Twitter, at least) in over 12 days. Nothing. And Literotica used to post things daily. And 12 days ago is about when all the issues on this site started happening. Does anyone have any insight on any of this???

EDIT: And it's more than just story submission issues. For one thing, my avatar has gone missing for the last few days. It shows up on my personal page, but on the forum it's gone. And some of the forum pages are out of order. A new post on another thread showed up as page 11, then when I went to the last page (page 16), the post was repeated in it's correct (most recent) place. Weird.

I've just deleted my pending story again, and resubmitted with a polite note hoping that it could still be listed with the story event. It's something to do to pass the time....

I resubmitted mine with a similar note on September 27. Still nothing. If it doesn't publish this weekend, I will try again, but I will leave out the C&P note. It's too late to make any difference now.

Is this challenge over and was a winner declared?

If so, congrats to him or her!

There's no real "end," but the submission deadline was September 19 with a posting date of September 22. Although there's at least one story submitted that still has not posted... ☹️

I've resubmitted three times, and still pending. I have a theory as to why that I will try out if it doesn't get published soon.

Finally, a month after the deadline, my C&P story has been published!

Abby in the White City

This is Abby's third adventure, although each one stands alone, they do follow a main narrative.

For those diving in new; a short, mostly spoiler free, synopsis of past events, from Abby and the Outlaws and Abby Comes To Town:

Abby is a young prostitute in a frontier town in the 1880s who has been accused of murdering a customer and is sentenced to hang. Of course, she escapes or there wouldn't be much of a story. She hooks up with a gang of outlaws plotting a bank robbery. When the smoke clears, she somehow ends up heading to Chicago with the loot and a handsome young partner in tow.

In Chicago, she gets a job at one of the city's premier brothels, and through her wits and whiles and a little bit of homicide, ends up taking it over.

In this new story, it is ten years later. The World's Fair has come to Chicago, and two new threats to Abby's empire emerge: Do-gooder reformers and organized crime.

Of course, it's the weekend, you could just read all three! ;)

Congratulations!! Did you resubmit it at any time? I have one that's getting to about a month, but it sat for a week, I took it out and resubmitted it, after another 4-5 days I took it out and made a couple of minor edits (just so maybe a "new" version would trigger something) and resubmitted it, and now it's been almost two weeks since that resubmission. At this point, I'm just going to let it sit there. 🤷‍♀️

I resubmitted 3 times, but I don’t think I was doing it right. Because I c/p my submissions rather than upload a file, you can’t really delete the story without cancelling it completely. You are only changing the text, not removing the submission. When I did cancelled it completely and resubmitted , it was scheduled for publication in a couple of hours.

I copy and paste, too. Maybe I'll try your option. Or just let it sit and see what happens. I've missed the challenge anyway. I'm also getting a bit dismayed at seeing my work (as of late) get trashed with ratings. In 2024, 84% of my stories had a rating over 4.5. For 2024, it's 37%. Not only do I doubt that my writing has suddenly tanked for no reason, but some of these newer stories have won awards on other sites. I think the trolls have taken over and it's discouraging, to say the least.

After more than a month in pending limbo, I think these are the lousiest Day One numbers I've ever received. If the story had been published while the event was live, they'd all be significantly higher.

Thanks a fuck ton, Lit.

I got lucky, I think. My 2nd entry for the event just got published (yes, a month later) and the engagement numbers are great after 18 hours, perhaps because it's in LW and because the system problems are being fixed up. Previous stories included below for comparison - the other Crime & Punishment story was 'Jade', and the other two listed were for the Halloween and Summer Lovin comps. @MelissaBaby, they also kindly updated the event story list to include my story - is it worth you pressing the case for that to happen with yours? It may not make much difference to the stats, but it all helps since the event is still prominent on the 'Spotlight' bit of the home page.
