Oh... photos

In other news... if you go to Bing.com you can see some of the Texas landscape. Their picture of the day today is of Texas bluebonnets, and it's the only good thing about this time of year. It gets really pretty at the same time that it starts getting really hot. :)

Hmmmmmm........early stages of El Nino? lol

Hope your day gets better hun

Nah... this last summer was supposed to have been cause by La Nina. El Nino causes rain, and we don't get rain. I did hear a weatherman or someone postulate that if Texas got hit by a couple hurricanes this summer, we'd officially be out of the drought. Well, duh.

Yes the furnace is firing up early this year! It's making the tarantulas come out of the wood work early too...I hate tarantulas!!

Funny......how parts of Texas are gonna be in drought conditions and others are getting nailed with tornadoes:eek:

Tarantulas are horrible creatures... >.> I sleep with a shotgun just to keep them at bay. It's like arachnophobia on steroids.

Not so funny... some of those tornadoes were rather close to me. And parts of Texas are always in drought conditions. Just about everything west of San Antonio is desert. Then everything east has the chance of being flooded, especially the towns situated near the rivers. North Texas gets tornadoes, and south of San Antonio is pretty much just another part of Mexico.

Why do people live here? Oh yeah, because this state rocks! :nana: :D

ummm cause your sexy ass is part of this state duh! hiya sexy how have you been?

First things first, this morning I had a bit of a crisis. The Taqueria that I usually get my breakfast tacos from was out of EVERYTHING this morning. No sugar, so no sweet tea. No tortillas. No eggs. No avocados. And worse, I think they ran out of Mexicans.
Heheh, I always carry a flask of pureed chipotle peppers with me so that whatever I do find to eat will at least be flavorful.

So true!

Missing you, hope all is well.

Everything's fine, but I'm on the middle of trying a new method to cooking carnitas on my first day off for this cycle. Right now they look pretty disgusting... so I'm skeptical. But trying. They better taste better than they look because I don't have time to make anything else!

Edit: They turned out great. This was the first time I've tried making Michoacan-style carnitas. I thought they would be a bit tough because they cook so much faster (3.5-4 hrs) than my regular carnitas (6+ hrs), but they fall apart with a hard look.

On a non-food related note, there will be at least one more picture tonight. Until then, you get to imagine porky goodness, homemade refried beans, rice, and tortillas. :D
