But I have no idea what the pharse "panty waste" means.
And is it waste, or waist? I have heard a few things people think it means but I would like the fine folks on Lit to give me their two cents.

It is actually pantywaist. I don't know the exact origins of the term but I believe it is as if the man is still clung to his mommy's waist. Like still holding onto her and hiding behind her.

It is term to describe a weak or wussy or useless guy.

Like say a guy saw a mouse and screamed and jumped up on the table. You would laugh and say, "You fucking pantywaist."
