Emily Scott, long brown hair, slim and fit at 29, had been in the city just two weeks. In the past year, she'd broken up with her boyfriend and taken a new job far away from home. Without friends in the new place, she spent more time than usual on Facebook. That night she was scrolling through her friends when she came upon Jake Smither. To her surprise, the location he gave was her new city! She hadn't seen him since high school graduation. They had had some classes together and almost dated, but the circumstances just hadn't worked out.
She typed him a message..."Hey Jake this is Emily from high school. Do we really live in the same place? Just moved here myself, would love to meet and catch up." In ten minutes he answered, and they arranged to meet at a downtown bar after work the next day. Getting ready that morning, Emily put on a short cotton sundress that reminded her of the dresses she had in high school. Then she drew her hair up into a pony tail. Smiling to herself, she wondered if he'd notice.
After work, she went to the Metro Grille as he'd suggested. It was crowded with mostly young people her age. Scanning the crowd, she found someone who looked like Jake. She gave the guy a quizzical smile. "Jake?"
