Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Here's an obituary with more info:

I remember hearing him and The Raspberries on the radio in the early 1970s, but it wasn't until a few years later when I picked up a copy of their "Best" in the cutout bin (anyone remember those???) at my local record shop. This is the one I got:

And it led off with this song, and didn't let up:

Raspberries - Go All The Way

I still completely love that song! When it was on the radio I had no idea what they were talking about, but loved the song. Those opening guitar chords! Still love that dirty sound… 🥰🥰🥰🥰

This is a bit outside what this thread was intended to be, but it has grown which is so awesome!

This is cool and fun on its own, but @PlanetaryNebula - is it just me, or is that guy playing a pink Fender Jaguar??? So fun!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Postmodern Jukebox - I was made for loving you

Another song, pretty "new" for me.... but it is really good, and a testament to the talent of KT Tunstall (in my opinion)

KT Tunstall - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree

I know that I say this often... but please know, I mean it every, single time!

Crank this bad birdie up!

Bobby Day - Rockin' Robin

The Romantics - What I Like About You

No words for how much I love the playful fun of this song....

I remember hearing this song for the first time, many years ago... and loved it from the start. It is one of those wonderful songs that speaks to the soul, in basic, simplistic fun.

Georgia Satellites - Keep Your Hands To Yourself

This is one of those songs, that my brain says is from a different time - which is totally magical. Because those simpler times were wonderful, and so much better than we thought at the time.

All I can say is, it is way too late to be cranking this stuff up... I should be asleep... but hey, I'm fired up and what is the point of having 1,000 watts of amplifiers if you don't turn it up?

THE KINGS - This Beat Goes on/Switchin' to Glide

Okay. I really need to drag my stupid ass off to bed. But one more killer tune before I give up.... And this song is so much better than it gets credit for. These guys are soooo good!

Loggins & Messina - Angry Eyes

Percy Sledge/Michael Bolton - When A Man Loves A Woman - 1966

Though The Kingsmen are best known for "Louie Louie", this song was almost as big a hit, but kind of forgotten; my guess because it's kind of a novelty song. It's still fun to listen to.

The Kingsmen - The Jolly Green Giant
