Birthday wishes to Barry Gibb, born this day, September 1, 1946, 78 years young. He had a ton of hits with his brothers in the Bee Gees but I really like this one. It was a number one hit but it seems to have been overshadowed by their later Saturday Night Fever songs.

Birthday wishes to the late Conway Twitty, born this day, September 1, 1933. He was only 59 when he passed, way too young in my opinion. He had a ton of hits on the country charts, and I remember he was a favorite of my Father's. I think this is one of his best known songs.

Excellent choice! I think this has always been my favorite tune from the Bee Gees. 🥰🥰🥰

(Last one, I promise )

Birthday wishes to Gloria Estefan, born this day, September 1, 1957. She's a guilty pleasure of mine; she has a fantastic voice and her music with the Miami Sound Machine made me appreciate Latin music.

I'm an old man now, but Fifties-Sixties-Seventies music cannot be beat. I especially loved the love songs.

My favorite group of all time, doing their farewell concert after 39 years of lyrical and musical genius as a group...

My favorite all-time song---for a number of years, my leadoff bar karaoke song
Anyone remember

...Tango in the Night....Fleetwood Mac.....I always wanted to hear this track live in concert, but it was one that never seemed to make the set list

In August 1977, very close USAF active duty friends---husband and wife---the wife, Kitty, cried when Elvis died.
She had an "ACHY BREAKY HEART" over a performer she loved so dearly. It certainly wasn't reason to line dance for her, but there are songs Elvis did that certainly wondered where the song came from. One example:

Ironically, one of the last Elvis live performances had him singing the Paul Anka cover....wondering if he was predicting his own death.

Love that song!!! And he could really sing, anything.
