OK, trivia time. Marianne Faithful' mother was an Austrian member of the Resistance in WW2; her father was a British Intelligence Officer. Cool.

Her maternal ancestor, according to Wikipedia,

Faithfull's maternal great-great-uncle was Leopold von Sacher-Masoch[6], whose erotic novel, Venus in Furs, spawned the word "masochism".[7]
