It's not anti-vax. The point is not whether one should or shouldn't get a vaccination; the point is that everyone will be infected at some point vaccinated or not and this particular variant is probably as good or better of one to build immunity with

The very best immunity comes from natural immunity followed by a vaccine. It's unknown whether if you have the vaccine first and then are infected whether that's just as good but I would assume so.

Regardless of what people do to keep the hysteria alive at some point covid is going to learn to co-exist with us because it's in its best interest.

For what it's worth; I saw an interview with an expert who said that speculation about Omicron being less virulent is premature because it is confronting populations that are highly vaccinated or with some natural immunity, and thus may only APPEAR to be less of a threat than Delta.

Rememeber that most hospitalizations and deaths are among the unvaccinated even with Delta.

If everybody was vaccinated, Delta would APPEAR to be less dangerous than some earlier variants.

The good news is, with a combination of vaccines, natural immunity, and therapeutics, a total collapse of healthcare services is unlikely.

That ^ doesn't mean healthcare services won't be severly stressed, which justifies the continued need for mitigation efforts.

There is zero evidence that there would be any difference in the transmissibiliy of the virus if "everyone was vaccinated." There's lots of evidence that high rates of vaccination do not correlate with lower case rates.

The virus does not avoid interactions with vaccinated persons. The vaccines may shorten the window where a person is contagious. Vaccinated and unvaccinated people are just as likely to be hosts for the virus and vectors for its transmission. Nothing about being vaccinated impedes the process by which viruses mutate and may well aid in the selection of variants that achieve dominance.

Viruses don't check vaccination cards.

I breathe with scores of my fellow mortals a week. In hindsight, maybe 3 weeks ago was Omnicrom. It presented like a cold with post-nasal induced sore throat. I got it from some eastern Europeans. The (son?) just looked run down and miserable, the wife seemed ok, and the (mother? MIL?) had a bad, hacking cough.

I had a bit of a cough impulse, my lungs were clear, and a cough suppressant worked. It didn't bother with an expectorant but did use a decongestant.

Been going through bags of hard candy to keep my voice.

Half a bottle of Glenmorangie (so far) has been a fun experiment, but probably not all that therapeutic. Currently, I'm experimenting with dissolving a butterscotch candy in one sample and some cinnamon candy in another

We do know.

Virtually no deaths, few hospitalizations and Florida excrement samples says Omnicrom is the dominant strain but Delta is the bulk of hospitalizations.

Ogg, once the various reports are stripped of their hysteria we're left with what appears to be a highly transmissible strain that is relatively vaccine resistant but with a lower hospitalization/death rate.

What else do we know? We know that social distancing (the 6' rule is ineffective and arbitrary), even if enforceable, is of little value. The same can be said of the masking which was never much more than a placebo to begin with (most people are wearing ineffective masks and improperly at that). Fully vaccinated individuals, even those with boosters, can contract and spread the disease.............often without even knowing they even have the disease. We also know that natural anti-bodies are far more effective than the vaccine produced types.

So just take care of yourself within the limits of your own risk tolerance and “Laissez les bons temps rouler.”

Worn properly or not, there's no such thing as an effective mask against an aerosolized virus. There are no industrial hygienists that would recommend anything but an isolated air supply.

Remember when they wanted to open bars and restaurants using hospital-grade HEPA filtration systems and the powers that be appropriately vetoed that idea because hospital-grade filtration systems do not filter out aerosolized viruses.

Six feet is in the US and a meter everywhere else- neither makes any sense whatsoever for an aerosolized virus. See the article in Wired Magazine regarding airborne particulates.

I'm extremely skeptical of viral spread by truly asymptomatic so-called cases. We don't call a detectable virus count in any other respiratory disease where no symptoms are presented a "case". Every other respiratory disease you can name any doctor will tell you that three days after fever abates you are not contagious. Why would this one be any different? If your viral count is so low that your own body doesn't detect it and spiked a fever how do you have enough virus to shed and share? This is not Ebola and it does not spread by contact. You have to physically breathe it in specifically into your lower lungs in sufficient quantity to get the disease. All indications are that takes close contact for a good 15 to 20 minutes with an infected patient.

The covid test has a know 3% false positive rate and very few people who have tested positive are shown to have a sufficient viral load to be infectious. Just because your nasal membranes have captured enough virus particles from some source to be detectable doesn't mean you yourself are infected. It doesn't reproduce in the nasopharynx.

It's absolutely insane. We laugh we see the beak nose mask from the 1918 epidemic. This is beyond stupid. We have the technology for rapid test every single person in that room. The test has a 3% false positive rate but as far as I know it doesn't have a negative rate that is known at all.

It's safe to assume everyone in that room does not have covid. Yet they're wearing masks which would do nothing even if they were all infected and spacing themselves out which also does nothing because they're still breathing the same room full of air.

Presumably, they're all vaccinated and "boosted" as well so what you're telling the public is even if you're vaccinated there's absolutely no way to be sure about the air you breathe.

The mask theater tells vaccine skeptics that they'll probably be okay unvaccinated as long as they wear a completely ineffectual face covering.

Why is it if everyone is quite sure that these masks are catching viral loads that there aren't burn barrels everywhere to dispose of that biohazard?

I find it hard to believe that the people in the room with Biden sincerely believe that those masks are doing anything if they were actually necessary and that any of them in that photo opportunity actually believe that their chance of contracting WuFlu in that room is anything above zero.

He could declare victory now and be done with it.

They could have had far better acceptance of the "vaccines" if they simply explained that they are leaky but effective at reducing symptoms and that none of the reasonably tried mitigation efforts has had any effect.

Convincing people that washing your hands for a virus that doesn't spread by contact, wearing ineffectual masks, and doing the social distancing dance are reasonable alternatives to a vaccine does not serve the population well.

What vax fatality rate? Covid death rate? Yes. Vax death rate? Almost invisible. Chicago has more gunshot deaths in a week than the worldwide total of deaths from the vaccines.

In the UK for the last year to the end of October, the number of deaths recorded from the adverse effect of the vaccination is 9. That is death certificates where the primary cause is stated to be the Covid vaccination. There could be other contributing causes. That compares with 146,000+ deaths from Covid.
