Hey Khadgar It doesn't matter much, don't think anyone would have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it I think with a regular carriage they'd only have 2 horses. The stagecoaches weighed in at over 1 ton, plus baggage and people, so I guess thats why they needed more
oh... BTW.. I don't like killing horses either, but if they've a broken leg, there is very little you can do for them these days. back then, breaking a leg = death. I couldn't think of a way to stop them before they got too far away.... and I figured, its ment to be extreme horror.......
Oh, well, I worked with it, and we're moving pretty well toward the "Horror" part now. It really didn't matter. We needed to get the supernatural in there already, so it made a good post, afterall.
I moved Felicity into the town, Firesprite, figuring that a few posts have gone by and that she and tex would have reached town with the horses by now. I said, It looked to be Felicity, though, or something like that, so if you're not ready to reach the saloon, or don't want in the saloon at all, I can make it someone who Statler mistakes for her and call it a flub on his part. Either way, it's your call.Oh, and what say we decide that the zombies can be killed by a shot to the head, Romero Living Dead style, but that nothing is a guarantee, and that as often as it works, it doesn't. That way their not invoncible, and they can also be made to be harder to kill than a simple shot to the head. Everyone like that? Let me know your thoughts, since we haven't concreted it just yet.
Only one or two. Thought later on we might find a nest of eggs down there though if we get run out of town.
For those unfamiliar with the snakes QC is refering to..
The snakes are up to or over 20 feet in length. They are 2 feet in diameter, their heads are over a foot. They can be killed by a brain shot, but their brains are small so it takes many shots to kill them. They are non-poisonous, but they can eat a man with a gulp and are pretty quick.
Their normal food source are R.O.U.S's or Rodents Of Unusual Size.
R.O.U.S's are Rats about a foot tall or bigger. Their bodies about 2 feet long, their tails another 2 feet or longer. They are easy to kill or maim.
Don't ask me what they eat. (anyone got any suggestions?)
I suspect that there is something in the mines that makes these animals grow to such proportions, but that hasn't been investigated yet. Is it a food? an odor? a magic crystal? Thats up to whoever happens to go down there (if anyone ever does) to discover.
A further note: something unidentified down there cries like a lost young child.
Just out of curiosity, besides keeping our own skins whole and saving the town from being over-run, is there any "purpose"?
I have noticed from previous bad-guy/good-guy conflicts that there is just a never-ending stream of bad-guys and its just a pointless ongoing battle.
I was thinking that to add a bit of depth there might be a "cause" - why did the dead arise? we are seeing the "effect" of them attacking Desolation. Why hadn't they attacked before? are they after something (besides the standard "recruitment" of more bodies)?
Are there going to be additional bad-guys? Were, Vampires, evil creatures?
Are the good-guys protecting something? Should the good-guys find whatever the bad-guys want and give it to them to make them go away?
Basicly, are we working towards something other than clearing the town of the undead (and destroying it in the process)?
Okie Dokie Khadgar, sounds good to me I'll post then you can lead the way.
Don't forget folks, its night time now.. we were chasing the horses when the sun was going down..... if that becomes a problem, remember, you can always set fire to a building or two.
Hey I'm going away from Thursday to Monday so I'm going to have Fissure disappear down a mine shaft or something until then. I'll write it in on Wensday.
