Re: Lead the Party or Let the Party Lead
I would have to say this game falls within reverse AD&D .. where the heros' and monsters' roles are reversed. It does make for an interesting game.. But in ours only the DM and players are reversed..
This is only my opinion. I speak from 5 years of LARP and RPG- ing.
I tend to like this format because if the game gets slow the players can decide to lead it somewhere... or if they are stuck in a really important decision they can do it without clues to as what they will run into.
(read up on 3rd edition, it has a few changes but otherwise, I feel, it fills in spots and holes left by the 1st and 2nd.)
Thanks everyone *smile* for the nice comments..
Snork Maiden said:That's the paradox of DMing isn't it, if you lead the party too much the people feel controlled and resist all your good intentions, if you do nothing then the people just mill about and cause general mischief to amuse themselves. Seen it, DM'ed it, done it.
I don't know perhaps it is different in 3rd Ed.
