OOC -- "Dark Nights"

Introduction

The first thing to know, before we even get to the role play, is that this thread -- the OOC Thread -- is not a place for writer conversation. If you have a question or comment, please PM it to the appropriate writer. Do not post anything in this thread! You will find the OOC Thread must easier to use if it is not filled with dozens and dozens of little conversational posts between writers, don't you think?

The Story

As the storm bore down upon the city, the brave -- or, in some cases, idiotic -- residents of the Tipton Tower Condominiums prepared ... with champagne, steaks, and stacks of DVDs. They were sure they would be safer in their home -- an 8 story structure built to withstand a Category Four hurricane -- than out on the road, fighting the thousands of cars and buses struggling down clogged highways for the interior of the State.

There was, of course, no way they could have known that the hurricane would be the least of the dangers they would face during the next hours and days.

As FBI Agent Martin Grimes -- who had remained behind on a drug sting -- fought his way through the storm and burst through the Tipton's back door, he found himself interrupting a "family" of vampires as they fed upon one of his neighbors. (Post #1)

They allowed him to leave, telling him that he would be the last to die ... after they'd killed or "turned" everyone else in the building...

More To Come...

I will add more here as it is revealed in the IC thread posts.

Joining The Role Play

I am still putting the role play together and, to be honest, haven't even finalized all of my thoughts on the specifics of the Fabris Family, our Vampires.

What I can tell you right now is this:
  • I will initially write all of the Vampires. I am doing this simply to lay out the specifics about them. There will be Vampires who are only vaguely mentioned, allowing those writers who wish to play them to name them, pick their pics, describe them, and more.
  • People inside the Tipton Tower will include the condo residents, friends and family who are staying with them during the storm, a handful of desperate souls who sought refuge in the buildings, and maybe even a couple of vagrants. Again, I will vaguely refer to a few of them, simply to promote some story line ideas; but for the most part, these characters are totally of your creation.
  • And, of course, over time some of these people will be turned. This will produce more vampire-writing opportunities.
  • There will also be people killed. I would like to see every writer voluntarily take on a character who will be killed, otherwise known as a "blood donor". Yeah, yeah, I know; "Why would I take the time to create a character only to have them killed?" Why not? We all die someday; why not in here, too. It will be dramatic. And if your concern is that the time you put into a long profile will simply be wasted, I have the solution: keep it short and sweet. But, this is totally up to you; I will not kill characters I don't have permission to "retire".

There is more to come, but right now I have things to do.
