Question for you, are you looking for two seperate women to play the peasant and the rogue or just one?

William, "Viscount" of Wildwood

PICTURE

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
  • Male, 32 years old
  • 5'10", 195#.
  • Muscular, strong.
  • Wavy brunette hair; hazel eyes.
  • Scars:
    • Sword slash diagonally across his back from left shoulder to right hip.
    • Arrow piercings in upper right back shoulder, lower left belly, and right thigh.
    • Knife slash across neck just below the chin.
PERSONALITY:
  • Dedicated, loyal.
  • Risk taking.
  • Fun loving, humorous.
  • Sexually experienced and adventurous.
PERSONAL HISTORY:
  • Came from a Noble family.
  • Sword and dagger training from boyhood.
  • No good with the bow, however.
  • Joined the King's Army in the war against the Army of the Nobles.
  • His father, however, was secretly supporting the Army of the Nobles. When his father's rebellious involvement was uncovered, William's father, mother, and two older brothers were publically executed.
  • William and his men -- 14 Nobles and their 65 loyal peasant soldiers -- swore their loyalty to the King. They hunted down several renegade Nobles to prove their allegiance.
  • Despite this, the Nobles were stripped of their titles and lands; and the members of William's "Black Knight Army" -- now down to 28 men -- were declared enemies of the Crown and hunted until only the 6 who arrived at Wildwood remained.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES IN WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVOLVE YOUR CHARACTER?
  • William's first mission is to reestablish himself as a Noble Lord, living within the good graces of the Crown:
    • Wildwood, which was the home of a rebellious Count and was destroyed a decade before the start of our role play, was not reclaimed by a Noble.
    • It's relatively isolated location makes it a perfect place for a wanna-be-Nobleman to stake a claim and create a name for himself.
    • William's goal is to rebuild the Keep and Village, rebuild the economy, and create an influx of peasants and merchants that will bring the Town back to life ... before the King's Army shows up to see what the hell is happening and, possibly, bring an early end to it.
  • William took an interest in a peasant girl, Cara, from the first moment he arrived; and he will do what he can to begin a relationship with her. This doesn't mean he won't partake of other peasant girls; nor does it mean that he won't take a Noble bride if it becomes necessary to rebuild Wildwood's economy and status.
  • Occasionally, I will introduce twists, some of which will impact William and others negatively and invigorate the story.
  • This a long term character.
WRITER'S INFORMATION:
  • I am in the Pacific Time Zone (US West Coast), GMT-8.
  • I role play off and on all day, every day, but most of my back and forth exchanges will be on week nights between 5-10pm.
  • I will be writing as many characters as I need to ensure that y'all have someone with whom to write.

Peter
The Dark Prince
of the Forest Rogues

PICTURE

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
  • Male, 38 years old
  • 6', 190#.
  • Lean but muscular and strong.
  • Wavy black hair; deep brown (almost black) eyes.
  • Scars:
    • A variety of serious and not so serious cuts to his forearms and body from "sword play" with his men.
    • Arrow piercing to his upper left chest.
    • Knife piercing to his upper left chest (from an angry former lover).
PERSONALITY:
  • Demanding of those around him.
  • A forceful leader.
  • Egocentric. Always considers his own needs first, but will take risks for those who show him unquestionable loyalty.
  • Sexually aggressive.
PERSONAL HISTORY:
  • His peasant family fled to the woods when he was just a boy.
  • Father was killed by the Guard of the former Wildwood Noble when he was 10; and his mother died of the Fever when he was 12.
  • He raised himself, surrounding himself with other renegades and throw aways.
  • Very good with the sword and dagger, and even better with the bow.
  • After the King's Army sacked Wildwood, leaving it defenseless, Peter came to an agreement to trade with them and, to a degree, protect them from other criminal elements. He always gets a little more than he gives, however.
  • He has a lover in their forest camp, a fiery woman with whom he shares a great passion.
  • He took a village lover a year ago, too, the peasant girl with whom William will soon begin sleeping.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES IN WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVOLVE YOUR CHARACTER?
  • Peter is all about Peter. He will not take lightly to William coming in and rebuilding Wildwood.
  • He will do what he can to slow the village's rebirth unless he sees it benefiting himself.
  • I'm thinking that he can use his village lover as a spy.
  • And his forest lover is going to become involved with William, so that should be interesting.

The Village of Wildwood:

Important Note:
  • With a little imagination, the drawings below will give you a good idea of the appearance of our Keep, Village, and County.
  • Begin with the image as a basis for your vision, then alter it as directed by the text.

Early History:

The Keep:
The County of Wildwood:
  • The Village of Wildwood sits atop a slightly raised area in the middle of an oblong shaped river valley.
  • The valley was carved by glaciers, giving it steep cliffs on its long sides (that have, of course, been eroded over the subsequent centuries).
  • The width of the valley varies but is 1 to 1-1/2 miles wide for most of its 10 mile length.
  • The valley had no permanent population before the original Viscount gained title.
  • The undeveloped land was tamed:
    • Dams and dikes redirected the river to allow drainage for farming and fresh water flow for use in the Village and maintenance of the moat's level.
    • Fields of wild grasses were planted in wheat and other grain crops.
    • Forests to both sides were logged.
    • And more.

The King's War:
  • 10 years before the start of our role play, the current Viscount joined the Army of the Nobles against the King.
  • The rebellion was a failure: infighting between the Nobles allowed the King's Army to maintain superiority and, one by one, crush the renegade Nobles.
  • The King's Army laid siege to Wildwood:
    • The County:
      • The County was cut off from the rest of the world.
      • Its troops, which had been on the Front, were unable to return to protect it.
      • Its industries, from mining to logging to farming to ranching, were crushed.
    • The Town:
      • The Town was burned. When the siege ended, there wasn't a building left that wasn't damaged beyond use.
      • The Town Fence -- the outer most defense -- was torn down, its lumber hauled away by laborers loyal to the King.
      • The 1,000+ people who populated the Town fled. Fewer than 100 returned, and -- without the protection of the Fences and Guard -- most of those left within a few months.
    • The Village:
      • Much of the Village (inside the Outer Fence) was burned during the siege.
      • It has been rebuilt (and looks like the image provide above with the following exceptions).
      • The Outer, Inner, and Keep Fences have multiple gaps in them. Some gaps were from the attacks, as indicated by crushed or blackened wood; while other gaps are the result of pillaging of the lumber for other purposes.
      • The moat is little more than a long, twisting mud hole. Its water source was the river, with a constant flow of water coming from the river via an earthen dike which was destroyed post-War by Mother Nature.
      • The bridge from the Outer to Inner Gates was burned post-attack as punishment. Since then, the villagers filled in the moat enough to create an earthen walkway.
      • The bridge connecting the Village to the Keep was also burned post-invasion. A similar earthen walkway was constructed here.
    • The Keep:
      • Trebuchets were used to set the Keep's roof aflame.
      • Once it was afire, those Guardsmen still present fled during the night with the Viscount and his family through a tunnel that emerged a half a mile away.
      • No one currently in the Village knows whether the Viscount and/or his family members survived.
      • With no roof and the interior pillaged by the King's Army -- and later the villagers themselves -- the Keep was essentially abandoned by the Villagers. They use it as a lookout post, but otherwise ignore it for the most part.
The current Village of Wildwood
  • Fewer than 100 people remain in Wildwood, all within the Outer Fence which they have rebuilt to protect themselves.
  • They are -- or were, until the arrival of William (written by your Host) -- governed by an Elder, a 50 year old man named Turrell (also written by your Host).
  • They have very little industry or economy. They forage and hunt, raise goats, and -- when possible -- trade with travelling using the River Road, which passes near the Village.
  • They have a handful of Fighters who can truly handle a weapon and, because of this, typically submit to the demands of Forest Rogues and other Bandits who press them for tribute or imbalanced trade.

NAME: Cara

PLACE IN STORY:
  • Elder Turrell's (illegitimate) daughter.
  • Lust interest of William.
  • Possible lust interest/lover of Peter (which is still being decided).
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
  • 5'6"; c36, long legs, a toned yet womanly body.
  • Redhead, with long natural gentle wavy curls.
  • Full red lips, bluish, green eyes with high cheekbones.
  • She looks dainty- but once she moves- its obvious from her muscle tone that she works with her hands and often uses her feet to move- she doesn't live a sedentary life.
PERSONALITY:
  • Innocent, stubborn, strong willed, and independent.
  • She's seen her mother having to live her life dependent on men so Cara really wants a life where she can live it on her own terms- but at the same time she knows that as a woman that's nearly almost impossible.
  • She kind of knows how to read and write- as a peasant its not a necessity to be literate but she's determined to become literate- maybe the Noble Lord could read to her and engage/tantalize/treat her with this too.
  • Despite her strong character she does have a nurturing side- as the older sister to 3 younger siblings- she cared for them.
  • She's also known in the village to care for sick animals- despite her instinct as a hunter she also has a keen sense as a healer and has cared for sick wild animals as well.
  • She's had a handful of marriage offers from the men in the village but she's turned them all down despite her family's disappointment.
  • She knows her way around the forest and she knows how to hunt & gather.
  • She's skillful with a bow & arrow. She still knows how to use a bow and arrow- things she learned from her older brother but she hardly ever uses it.
PERSONAL HISTORY:
  • Although Cara doesn't hold a title, everyone in the village knows that she's the Elder's daughter:
    • Her mother and father had one son before the father died in a hunting accident.
    • The Elder, Turrell, took a liking to Cara's mother and when he was "offering condolences" (and decided to do a bit more), Cara's mother became his mistress.
    • Turrell eventually moved on to another young thing, but during this time Cara was conceived.
    • Cara's mother eventually remarried and Cara has other siblings, so in total she has one older half-brother, two younger sisters, and one younger brother.
  • Cara never really fit in her family since she has the blood of Turrell, and she's always been an outcast even in her age group. Thus she enjoys the woods- hunting and exploring.
  • Turrell has a soft spot for Cara. He offered her mother financial assistance, which she took at first. Once Cara found out she returned the money back to Turrell and made sure they were never treated as a "charity case".
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES IN WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVOLVE YOUR CHARACTER?
  • Well, I want to see the interaction between her and the Noble Lord.
  • I see her taking some time to warm up to the Noble Lord.
  • But once she does, I see them having quite the amazing sex but even a more interesting and meaningful relationship outside of just sex.
  • I see a reason she got close to Peter being when he got injured and Cara offered him some assistance.
  • Through this a love affair blossomed.
  • A similar thing could happen with the Noble too.
  • She might even have to betray Peter- which would be interesting to play.
  • I do see her panicking a bit when the Forest Rogue's Lover -- Agnes -- enters into the picture and tries to take the Noble Lord away from Cara.
  • Cara at first isn't interested or at all in love with the Noble Lord- but once another woman enters into the picture Cara might try to use Peter to get the Noble Lord jealous or even fake a pregnancy- or really be pregnant by the Noble- either way she has an agenda to make sure to get herself out of the peasant life and she'll do anything to do it.
WRITER'S INFORMATION:
  • Time Zone: PST
  • Times you are most often online:
    • Depends on the day- I can be on during the day- but I'm a student so it really depends on the week/really the day.
    • I can be on during the night as well- but whether or not I can write depends on how busy my day was/if I have the energy to write. I don't want to write something that's subpar.

Agnes

Picture 1 | 2

NOTE: This profile is being written for the time period immediately following Agnes' capture by the Forest Rogues, led by Peter, nicknamed the Dark Prince.

PLACE IN THE STORY:
  • A noble woman.
  • Was on her way to be wed to another noble, Frederick, when her coach was intercepted on the Great Forest Road by the Forest Rogues.
  • Is the lust interest of Peter, the Dark Prince of the Forest Rogues.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
  • Female, Age 18.
  • 5'7", 115#.
  • Dark honey blonde hair, hazel-green eyes.
  • Slender, athletically toned body.
PERSONALITY:
  • Above all, Agnes is proud.
  • Just beneath that, she is fiercely independent.
  • She considers herself to be a good and honorable person, even if she is not righteous.
PERSONAL HISTORY:
  • Agnes belongs to a prestigious noble house and is distantly related to the throne (third cousin to the King on her father's side).
  • The young noble was eighteen at the time of her capture by the Forest Rogues, en route to the holdings of her betrothed, Frederick.
  • It wasn't entirely too long before Agnes realized that she preferred the life of a rogue to that of a proper lady.
  • The thought of returning home, or finally finding her way to Frederick's holdings, is horrifying. She is convinced she is no longer capable of suffering a life of endless formalities and soul-crushing boredom.
  • She refuses to give her full name to her captors, convinced that they would seek ransom from her family. Even when she began to see the Forest Rogues as allies, she will show absolutely no interest in discussing her former life with them.
  • HOST'S NOTE: While Agnes has refused to expose her true identity, Peter forced it from her escorts at the time of her capture. He knows of her father's name and title, but he has no idea so far that she is a relation to the king. However, just as she won't tell him her name, he won't tell her that he knows it ... unless necessary. To tell her he knows who she is would mean having to explain why he hasn't sought a ransom for her safe return. Peter isn't anxious to see the beauty leave his care.
  • Agnes will be assumed dead by her family and the civilized world in short time.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES IN WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVOLVE YOUR CHARACTER?
  • The adventures of Wildwood!
  • Being an integral part of the plot. Women can be devious!
  • Sex. Lots of sex.
WRITER'S INFORMATION:
  • I reside in MST (Midwest, USA), GMT -7
  • I am available to post weekdays and weekends, most often in the evenings (into early morning as I'm fairly nocturnal). Co-authors will be advised ahead of expected absences.

IMPORTANT NOTE
about
The "World of Wildwood" Timeline

There are currently two IC Threads being written simultaneously that are based upon the "World of Wildwood" universe. These include:
  • "Heritage": the "parent" thread around which all others are built. If you are interested in writing a story in the "World of Wildwood", you need to follow this one, even if you are not writing within it, as well as subscribe to the OOC Thread -- in which you are currently reading -- to keep up on new details that you may be missing if you are not reading all of the various threads.
  • "The Forest Rogues: Peter and Agnes": the story of a Noble woman who is initially kidnapped by Forest Rogues but later decides not to leave them ... or her new lover, the "Dark Prince" Peter.

At the time that I last updated this post, the time line between the two threads above had not yet to be established. They may be taking place simultaneously or they may be taking place months or even years apart (with "Peter and Agnes" being the earlier thread regardless of the time difference).

We are yet to decide the relative time lines, and we won't decide until it is necessary to do so as we are looking for flexibility.

TIMELINE

IMPORTANT NOTE:
  • The first time line below is the one upon which all events in the "World of Wildwood" are based, as written in the thread "Heritage".
  • The second time line is specifically for the events that are occurring in the thread "The Forest Rogues: Peter and Agnes"
  • The second time line begins some time before the first, but that specific relationship has not yet been determined. The second time line may have started 1 month, 1 year, or 5 years before the first: we don't know yet.
  • Keep this in mind when you read them. Do not compare the two time lines until you are told that they have been connected by a specific date. They are stand alone time lines for right now.

"HERITAGE":
  • Prior to the start of our role play:
    • 32 years ago: William is born. (See his profile.)
    • 20 years ago: Tensions rise between the King and the Nobility. A Civil War erupts.
    • 15 years ago: Treachery amongst the Nobles weakens them. Trust is not to be found.
    • 12 years ago: The tide of the war turns against the Nobles: their lands are falling to the King's Army.
    • 10 years ago:
      • William's father, mother, and two older sons are publically executed for treason against the Crown.
      • William himself, a loyal officer within the King's Army, is spared. He and his "Black Knight Army" are tasked with proving their loyalty by hunting down rebellious Nobles and Army of the Nobles officers.
      • Separately, the County, Town, Village, and Keep of Wildwood -- possessions of a rebellious Noble -- are, for the most part, destroyed.
    • 5 years ago: William and his Black Knights are betrayed by the King, stripped of their lands and titles, and declared enemies of the Crown. They go on the run and, by the time of our role play, are down to just 6 men.
  • Our Role Play Begins:
    • William and his 5 remaining Black Knights ride into the Village of Wildwood and essentially "buy" it with coins and a promise to better the lives of the poverty stricken peasants.
    • William takes an immediate interest in a beautiful young peasant, Cara, and "orders" that she will be his house servant, his intent, of course, being that she serves him in bed.

Turrell, Elder of Wildwood

PLACE IN THE STORY:
  • Former Wildwood Guardsman under the long gone Count Trager.
  • Currently the Village Elder of Wildwood.
  • Father of Cara, born out of wedlock to his mistress of the times.
  • Husband to Elenora, mother of his four legitimate children.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
  • Until necessary, there will be no physical description.
PERSONALITY:
  • Dedicated to his community.
  • A bit overbearing.
  • Stiff; serious; not often light hearted or humorous.
  • He is respected as a courageous fighter who has protected Wildwood's population.
  • Sexually gentle; sexually frustrated. :D (See below.)
PERSONAL HISTORY:
  • His family came to Wildwood as servants of the previous Noble, Count Trager.
  • He followed in his father's tracks and became a Guardsman for the Keep.
  • When the King's Army besieged Wildwood, he and others escorted the Count through the Keep tunnel to safety. They were set upon by the King's troops in the forest, and Turrell was separated from the others. He doesn't know whether the Count and his family survived or not, but because the King liked to publicly execute traitors, he believes that they still survive somewhere, either on the Great Continent or beyond the shores.
  • He returned to Wildwood after the King's forces did their damage and, with the community's support, took over as Village Elder.
  • He and others protected the village as best they could, but without propoer walls and money to support a significant Guard, often they simply had to provide what ever was asked of them by the King's troops, raiders, and others. Sometimes that meant womenfolk for the entertainment of visitors.
  • When William and his 5 Black Knights arrived, Turrell saw this as an opportunity to turn over the protective services to skilled warriors. He offered no resistance.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES IN WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO INVOLVE YOUR CHARACTER?
  • Turrell simply wants to live a comfortable life: ample food, security, ale, and an occasional good fuck are enough for him.
  • He will try to connect with his daughter Cara, who has never had an interest in a relationship with him. He wants to do this for two reasons: to become more involved in her life; and to know what the hell's going on inside the walls of the Keep.
  • I would like him to become involved with a young peasant girl (18+ obviously) whom he "knocks up" and with whom he must then deal.
  • This a long term character but a secondary one.

The Great Continent

Geography:
  • Map
  • Map makers think of the GC as being "torso" shaped.
  • Thinking of it in such terms, as a man you are facing, it is easy to describe the GC's dimensions:
    • The greatest width -- from the extreme outsides of the "shoulders" -- is 200 miles.
    • The greatest length -- from the right side of the "neck" to the "groin" -- is 300 miles.
    • The narrowest width -- across the "waist" from the West Bay to the slightly lower East Bay -- is 150 miles.
    • The Coast Road -- which follows the entirety of the coast line around the island -- is just over 1000 miles long.
  • Terrain: Again using the torso metaphor:
    • Mountain Ranges:
      • An unimpressive mountain range -- whose greatest peaks barely reach 2000 feet in height -- runs almost the full length of the island, from just below the "collar bone" to approximately the "belly button", a length of 250 miles.
      • Two additional ranges spur out from the "heart" toward each shoulder, each about 80 miles in length.
      • Although not impressive in height, the ranges are very rough terrain and -- except for the few roads that cut through passes -- the ranges can only be transited by foot.
    • The Shoreline, Harbors, etc.:
      • More than 90% of the shoreline is rocky and without sandy beaches.
      • This rough terrain makes the few harbors and bays extremely valuable for commerce and defense and, therefore, are where the majority of the fortified Cities and Towns on the GC are located.
      • On the east coast at the "left hip", an enormous estuary (more than 50 miles in length and, depending upon the tides, 10-20 miles in width) can sometimes almost totally drain dry, leaving behind a muddy or sandy land mass.
    • The Eastern Lakes:
      • The land to the east of the Great Mountain Range is pocketed by almost a thousand lakes.
      • Some have been turned into valuable Fisheries by the locals, producing fresh fish or processed fish products that are then marketed across the GC as well as across the ocean to distant lands.

Environment:
  • The Great Continent's south is a temperate region, with the amount and frequency of rains lessening as you travel north. The "shoulders" of the GC are rather arid, with each having its own rocky, mountainous desert region (seen as the tan areas in the map above).
  • The rains are light and consistent during the spring and autumn; and typically they cease across the entirety of the island for the months of July-September, sometimes leading to droughts and fires.
