OOC: Just Another Vampire Tale... (Closed)

This is a discussion thread for myself and sexy_curves to help us keep track of details and ideas for an upcoming vampire thread we will be writing together. Don't read any farther if you don't like details being spoiled in your reads!

This first post shall be continuously edited with character details, plot points, etc as the conversation (and main story) progresses.

The nature of vampires... (To be edited...)

Okay sexy, let's get started.

There are a lot of different vampire myths out there, and they often seem to proscribe different and varying powers to the vampiric villains.

Supernatural strength
Supernatural speed
Turning to mist
Turning into bats (or a single bat)
Vampiric glamer (hypnosis/thrall)

There have been different described methods of turning a human into a vampire, though these typically involve a sharing of vampiric blood

And vampires have had different weaknesses
Cross
Garlic
Inability to cross running water
Puncture by living (sometimes blessed) wood
Daylight/sunlight

I think we should specifically define, for this tale, the second two things: the method of turning, and vampire weaknesses. The first, however, I think can vary from vampire to vampire, depending on their strengths, background, and longevity. Thoughts?

I think powers should vary person to person, keeps things interesting. Maybe they all share one such as speed or strength?

Turning a human I think one should have to have vampire blood in their system when they die.

Vampire weakness maybe daylight and wood.

Thoughts?

Daylight and wood weaknesses is nice and simple. I like it.

Turning when death occurs with vamp blood in system works too.

As for powers, lets say they all possess some level of supernatural strength and speed, though it varies based on age and how recently they've fed. Also, they should all possess the glamer ability to some degree, again, being stronger with age and recent feedings.

A thought: can these vampires "feed" off purely sexual energy? Perhaps not as strongly as a blood meal, but different in some aspect? Perhaps feeding on a person's sexual release fuels their glamer ability to a greater degree?

Also, further into the nature of vampires? What happens when they eat normal food? Tastes like ash in their mouth? What about alcohol? How does that affect them? Other drugs? (You know it will come up lol)

I really like the idea of them getting intoxicated off alcohol/drugs in their victim's bloodstream.

Perhaps, another weakness, is some herb that weakens them? Wolfsbane? If that's in someone's system when they drink from them...

Sexual energy can tide them over, keep them going but they'd need a crazy crazy amount to stay nourished for long?

They can get drunk, good may doesn't do much, they can eat to keep their identity a secret but it's of absolutely no value.

Let's go with drugs can impact them, gets into whatever blood's in their system right?

Vervain in someone's system can prevent them from having a vampire influence their thoughts, and can be another weakness to vamps themselves.

Newly turned vampire, angry, confused and very very hungry. The vampire that turned her abandoned her and now she's on a feeding and sex rampage. It won't take long for the local vamps to take notice and try to get a handle on her behavior.

Brendan O'Connor has been walking this planet for some two hundred and fifty years. He was turned from human to vampire when he was just nineteen, some five days after his twin sister... And at her hand. They were immigrants from Ireland, living in New York City.

Bridget O'Connor is Brendan's twin sister. She was turned by the villain of this tale, Victor Drake, willingly... Though it did not take long for her to realize the error of her choice. Unable to fathom an eternity without her twin, she turned him.

Malcolm Harris is a much younger vampire, at a mere 80 years old. He was a victim of a lynch mob in the American South, but was "saved" by Victor, who gave him a shot containing vampire blood as he was en route to his hanging.

Victor Drake is one of the oldest vampires in existence. He has been seeking an ancient gem that possesses mystical powers, but has not been seen in over a hundred years. According to legend, the Heartstone can allow a vampire to significantly amplify his glamer abilities, to the point of controlling dozens, if not hundreds, of weak-minded humans at once, over a large area, and without the need for eye contact. He enjoys turning humans and erasing their memories of the incident, and watching the chaos that ensues. His search for the Heartstone has led him to Pine Grove, Kansas, searching for a certain family he believes to be in possession of the jewel...
