Giving reasons would help me get better at posting.

K. Fine job of actually posting. It sounds like a good fight. However Masume's sounds more convincing and flows better. Her use of special moves is accompianied by a descriptive actual move and saying. Blast sure. Grahh. for Nerve cutter. Tell people it's the nerve cutter. Videogamish is Videogamish but it's the way it's supposed to go. Or at least my preference.

Masume's fight is... well better. She writes incredibly well. The fight is balanced and over not from one major hit, but from from several impacts. Actually draining her opponent and winning. Like a street fighter fight.

Your character if these moves and your version is accepted is horribly unblanced. Like SNK BOSS unbalanced. You win in exactly three hits. If the "BLAST" move is a hit. If a throw even the strongest MOVE throw in the game does 33% damage, What did Nerve cutter do. MORE than the Raging Demon? More than Bison's Super Psycho Crusher. Hell how strong is the move, If you knock your opponent clean out. There is NO insta Win. Even Dan Gets up after the Demon in the comics. If you knock someone senseless for thirty seconds in streetfighter you should be able to win. Matches between the SF characters usually only last about 35 seconds. If that. Sagat vs. Karin was over before 20. You knocked her senseless, because she couldn't recover chi. Something Chun-Li is good at. So how does any character guard against this? Would say Ryu be knocked for what? Ten seconds? Five? These people can kick through Concrete, In five seconds She could just break his rib or shin, and this is one of the people who's supposed to be the greatest at gathering Chi and manipulating it. Nerve cutter seems like Gen's touch of death Super but more powerful. I can see and I agree that the Touch of death nerve cutter was a cool and highly powered but usable move. Blasting all the chi out of a body, Too powerful.

Other than that, it's quite cool. I just like masume's better for above reasons. hopefully this doesn't seem like I'm attacking you, It is a critique. I invite them about my posts at any time you know.

And I think that 12 more hours is a good time before we end voting. Or 20 more. Most of the people will get on between that time. 20 more hours seems good before we can get back to posting.

Everyone else good with that? I'll reply Sagat to Ken on the Chun-Li Maria match after that time.

Chun-Li wins by my vote. Both were kick ass, but I could just see Masume's more clearly.

Ryu will totally post all concernicus about Chun-Li in a sec.

Uh wait up on that. Let more people see it and vote.

Then maybe post about it.

Tenko, the problem and difference I see, is that I was not writing in a videogamish perspective. I was going a bit more realistic in that a hard hit to your face breaks your nose, and these people destroy rocks for training, so... winning is a matter of catching your opponent with his guard down and pummeling him with all you've got.

Therefore, my character is not "unbalanced", she simply played defensively and got the right moment to attack with all she had. That said, I know all characters are good at recovering Chi, it's just Maria is better at it than most. That's where her advantage was, in being able to manipulate Chi more easily. In the short term, anyone able to attack fast enough and hit her hard and decisively would win. Maria's "Blast" is not something she can do all the time and easily, it is a... decisive combo-breaker? Well, something like that anyway. And notice she suffered its effects too, although because she could recover faster she didn't suffer that much.

(Now I think about it... that would have been better for a Mortal Kombat fatality)

If the realism I go for is the problem you see with my posts, though, it is THE reason for me to lose. This is Street Fighter, after all. I'll try to have it in mind next time.

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry I was gone for so long, but some really rough personal issues got in the way.

I'm back now though! Good enough for at least one post a day! I hope you haven't forgotten me. :cathappy:

Nope two people waiting on ya. And you need to vote for katamari or masume's story.

Wow, they're both really good! I'm impressed. I hope I can get close to that when I get into a fight.

I'm going to give my vote to Katamari. Let's see if Maria can pull off an upset!

Hmm, tough choice! At the very least Kat's post helps elaborate on what her character can do, so regardless of which is chosen it helps, I think, to explain her abilities. Uh, so let's see...

I didn't think Maria's was too one-sided, but Chun Li's was probably a little more even. That's good in RPing, I think, because nobody wants to get slaughtered, regardless of whether they're playing as Akuma or, well, Dan.

They both have their virtues in terms of writing. I liked how in Maria's mind Chun Li's attacks are compared to, say, machine gun fire, because going by what I know of her that's fitting of her character. Masume's probably flowed a little better in terms of writing and description, and I think that made it a little easier to read and follow.

Ah... it's a tough call, but I think I'm gonna vote for Kat's version. I'd give Masume's the edge aesthetically, but I prefer the overall effect and result of Kat's. Kat's struck me as a little over the top, but for my tastes that's typical Street Fighter, and in that regard I really enjoyed it.

Whew, I'm done rambling now!

On a side note, Dan's gonna need a face-guard to protect his poor broken nose. Won't he love it if someone else is stuck wearing one! They'll be like... twins or something!

Yeah you can post. But at one post a day.

Hey! I said AT LEAST one a day. It'll be more than that most days, but I can guarantee one every day.
:catroar:

CT, you meanie. Cammy's going to have to kick Sagat in the balls.

I'm not actually upset, just gooking off. :cathappy:

Time to vote, huh? Reminds me that I need to register...

But, for this particular issue, I am casting my vote for Masume. I like the flow of the descriptions and the intensity of the scene. It wasn't an easy choice, both Masume and Katamari Roller did a very good job.

Um I can't really do thois. But in order to keep the ball rolling I want to close voting. I wanted to close it in less than a day but It's been up a week. If you have not had time to vote something I guess is wrong. Or you can't post right now. So I'm asking for a vote close and I'll post as soon as there is one.

I thought it was more or less closed, and that Cammy and Balrog's betting was out of time. But anyway, sure, close it.

Sorry if I balls'd things with the betting.

Been finding it REALLY hard to keep up with the thread, the sheer weight of posts was just too much to keep up with.

Here Comes a New Challenger!

Is it too late to throw my ball cap in the ring?

Yun Lee was a hell of a fighter, his natural talent honed under the watchful eye of the reclusive Master Gen. Both Yun and his twin, Yang, had competed in martial arts tournaments and found the challenge lacking. Discreetly, Yun had begun to fight in Hong Kong's underground arenas, where the cutthroat streetfighters would occasionally test his abilities. Night after night, the results only bolstered the young competitor's opinion of himself. He was a master. He was born to be a champion.

So why was he bussing tables in a dingy back alley noodle shop?

He asked himself that question on a daily basis. He asked himself, he asked Yang, and he asked Master Gen as he paid respects at the countertop shrine dedicated to his missing mentor. He asked whatever deities might by chance be listening and he asked the patrons. Frequently, loudly, and sometimes quite obnoxiously. He also wondered why business wasn't so good as of late.

Yun was certain he was destined for more than noodles and beating on punks. He had listened to Master Gen's tales religiously, stories of souls tested and true warriors meeting. Gen had instructed Chun Li, a martial arts phenom, years before. He had faced dark powers. Even now, he pursued the darkness for a final confrontation. And until he returned home, the Lee twins would watch the shop.

That's why Yun was bussing tables.

Despite his loyalty, the days had begun to drag on. Sloppy tables, dirty dishes, small tips, and tedium. No appreciation for their work. Yun stood amid the Genhanten's customers, a bin of soiled plates and bowls in hand. Yang was in back, busily frying up the next batch of noodles. From around the restaurant he picked up bits of conversation.

"Jesus, I burned my tongue!"

"Is someone going to tell the waiter about the bathrooms?"

"He's sure not getting a tip..."

"On the ceiling?!"

"I'm telling you, those Saikyo tapes are really working!"

Yun's eye twitched, though well hidden in the shadow of his baseball cap. His lip bled as he unconsciously bit into it. His knuckles went white in an instant, pent up frustration taking itself out on the poor washtub in his hands. Twisting, he ripped the thick plastic bin in half. Scummy water and cheap china crashed and splattered at his feet, shards flying across the room and bring everyone to a gawking silence. Yun stood motionless, save for the continuing spasm in his cheek.

With the all the reserve and poise his brother lacked, Yang emerged from the kitchen. Intuitively, he knew what had happened. He'd been waiting for it, waiting for his brother to snap under the pressure of humdrum life. He'd been hoping to avoid this, but it appeared inevitable. As insulting as it was to himself, he had to do this for his brother's sake, his brother's sanity...

As if out on a stroll, Yang approach his twin, a crumpled letter in hand. He roughly pressed the paper to Yun's chest until his other half gained the awareness to take it. They shared a look.

"It came a couple weeks ago. If you leave tonight you might still be able to make it," he stated simply, meandering back into the kitchen. "You were invited. I wasn't."

Uncomprehending, Yun eyed the sender's wrinkled address.

"Madrid...?"

Um hate to say this. But the FIRST three has not occured yet. Otherwise I'd be alex not sagat. And I can't speak for Masume so please don't take anything I say as law. For all I know sure we're still looking. It is only the second day or so.

So has the Chun-Li, Maria been decided? I'm having trouble following but I don't want to post as Ryu until we've got a winner.

Oopsie... Thanx. It was a while between the time I read through the threads and the time I wrote the bio, so I'm a wee fuzzy. I'll get to correctin' it.

Chunli. Morre than a week it is closed. CHun-Li has won and we use Masume's version of it. So yeah be all concerned so Sagat can taunt it.

I hope y'all can forgive a brutha's lack of posting lately, but my crappy Pentium II was having connection issues that (mostly) turned out to be a dying phone jack. But that part of the issue should be solved now!
