OOC: The Purgatory Inn

Yeah, I screwed up. I'm trying to do better, give me time, this is my first, well, sexual rpg. Trust me on that, I don't even know what to do, fight the demons or have sex with them. LOL! Oh well, my apologies goes out to the Tigarian guy in particular, didn't mean to make ya angry, I mean, but come on, don't be such a royal pain. You knew Derrick didn't mean anything by that, the guy doesn't even know you.

Patience is a virtue I possess in a very limited supply. LOL So let me apologize in advance for any impatience that might spring up.

I know how it is getting used to writing in a different genre, it takes time to find your footing.

Ok hold the fucking phone here.

I have a couple of questions for you two fellas.

1st of all neither one of you acknowledged the new comer to our group here.
Not one of you thought to include BlackFeather, even though her post destinctly put her into the room with you guys, and into the fray. Or if you did include her, I must have have skimmed it.
That's pretty rude guys. Don't you think? Or did you miss her post entirely?

Sorry BlackFeather.

2nd thing Bengal, you can't ask Kassandra anything. She left you in the Lobby with the Demon Slayer several posts ago. She was in the Cantina talking with Lars. So if you want to hook up with her again, you'll have to track her down.

3rd I really don't care who thinks they are the biggest bad ass here, so please could we cut down on the macho shit a little.

Sorry, screwed up yet again

Ok, is blackfeather the elf character, I did add her in my post when I beat the crap out of Virri, I said Jack was going to thank her for the glowing light or whatever, but he didn't have time to because he had a demon general staring at him. I'm not trying to be macho, unlike a certain half man half tiger character I know, just doing what my character does best, and it's his best occupation. Also, I'm sorry about the tiger guy leaving the place or whatever, it was his choice, I didn't make him do it.

Ok Garelock, big suggestion here, shorten your posts.

The only reason I'm suggesting this, is when you get to wordy you will lose the reader. In this case me. I missed the part where you thanked Blackfeather's character because I ended up skimming.

Try not to do too much at once, and give the other participants time to respond to your character.

I didn't suggest you had anything to do with Bengal's movements. That part of my post was specificly for him.

Yeah I knew that was a problem with me, that's what I meant by saying "I keep having this mind set of the longer the better". That's me alright, I'll try, but well, longer posts just makes me look better, my roleplaying sucks, that's where length comes in, but I'll shorten them up, maybe just a paragraph or two will do. Also, where is the security in this place? I mean, Demons and everything else have been running through here. What's next? Michael Jackson? Or maybe the Teletubbies? Just kidding.

This is a perfect opportunity to brush up on your roll playing. You don't have to worry bout impressing anyone, so your posts don't have to make you look good. What your posts should so is contribute to the story as a whole, at the same time working your character into it all.

The main security of the place, is the Place. That is in a previous post I wrote how the Inn itself is alive, and thus if things get to far out of hand, guests and intruders can and will be ejected.

Bottom line it dosn't matter how "bad ass" someone or something is. The Inn can protect itself if need be. However, the only time the Purgatory takes action is when the structure itself is jeapordized.

locations

I'm sorry to say, I did get a bit in on overdose but I hadn't yet finished developing my character and when the derrick came in I sort of lost track of where everyone was. He kept saying I was with him in one place, when I had gone to another. I just tried to keep up. I had already tried to play down my character in the last post. The whole fight scene had gotten out of hand. I was trying to make him into a partial romancer but it got lost in the fray. That's why he gave the healing potion and was willing to try and help as best as he could. Everytime I tried to create a way of still keeping him up with what's going on, I sort of lost where I was originally trying to go with him. I must apologize for how far from the sneaky assissin idea I tried to create. It also fits with his idea of a half tiger, a very mysterious creature even in reality.

I will try to make him more like I was originally trying. But remember how little he understands of himself, still discovering more of what race he really is, a royal tigarian.

Bengal, I understand the loss of focus. Sometimes I just have to point out the glaring oversights. Don't feel bad if you have to go back and reread a few posts here and there to brush up.

Xantham, I just gotta say that was a fantastic tie in post by Lars!

"Kyrel"
Height: 6'0
Weight: 145 lbs.
Sexual preference: Bisexual

Kyrel hails from the same dark dimension of the vampires, whom his species are distant cousins, and natural enemies, of. Though at this point his poeple are so rare that they have not been given an official name by any outsider. His species refer to themselves as "the Children of Father" while all vampires know them as "Weak Ones". Like the vampires, they must feed off other species to survive, but unlike their cousins, they have a slightly less crude method of doing do. They magically feed off the emotional, magical, sexual or spiritual energies of another as they expend it. This can be done by undergoing ritual with the prey, or by becoming intimate with them, which is what brings Kyrel to the Purgatory Inn. La Bomba knows of his activities, but he has agreed to take only portions of her employees' energies so as to leave them intact.

Kyrel himself posesses a lean, tight body with sharp facial features. He is completely hairless, having twilight-blue skin with patches of navy running from his tailbone up his back and over his arms. His skin is suprisingly smooth and cool, and his eyes are a dandylion shade of yellow.

I'm a bit of a slow writer, so I'll add my into when I get back from the movies :)

Welcome Medboy, your character sounds quite fascinating. Hope ya have a good time at the movies.

:)

Oh and By the Way...
La Bomba knows of his activities...
I presume you meant the Lady La Sombra by that reference? lol

La Sombra - the spanish word for shadows, or shade.

Kyoaku

height: 6' 0"
weight: 156 lbs
age: unknown

Kyoaku is a man of average build. While not excessively muscular he is toned. He has brown hair and eyes that resemble emeralds. He sometimes does mercinary work for various kingdoms, but mostly just wonders about doing as he pleases. His skills as a warrior are infamous, and his reputaion is exagerated out of control. While not looking a day over 24, it is known that he has participated in wars from 800 years ago. While many stories are told about him, no one knows anything for sure. A man of few words, he has been described as soul less.

Sorry about the long intro, hope no one wastes too much time reading it.

And the Matrix Revolution gets a resounding "Meh." by the way.

Welcome Deus Noctus, sounds like a good character

Medboy, pardon my ignorance here but "meh" good, bad or indifferent?

Sorry guys

I don't want to be singled out a loner, but I'm just trying to get into the mood of the whole vampire and demons thing, that's why I'm venturing off alone at the moment. Also, did I make Jack just a bit too powerful? I mean, the guy is about to fight one of Satan's daughters, then again, he is Satan's son.

Re: Sorry guys

"Meh" is so-so. Neither extremly good nor unwatchably bad. There wer a bunch of very corny or awkwardly delivered lines that were balanced out by great action scenes.

Garelock, i think your getting too hung up on the demons and vampires, not to mention the constant combat. Is Jack too powerful, in a word, Yes.

Remember Purgatory lies on a myriad of dimensions. In some places Satan is a nobody, with the power of a housefly. Heaven and Hell have no meaning. Consider the possiblities, that much diversity channeled through one centralized location.

Some of the very clientele of the Purgatory are demons, but they are not necessarily evil. It's all matter of perspective.

Thanks for educatin me Medboy. GRIN

Sounds like the last Matrix is a lot like the first two then. lol

Sorry, I just don't fit in right now, that's why I separated from the pack, there's nothing to do or to see. And yes, I do realize that certain dimensions can't be touched by Satan, that's why he sends others in for him, he diversifies his demons, well, everyone knows that, he makes them to fit most dimensions, and even then there's some that his demons nor himself can travel. I use Jack in alot of battle scenes for one reason, to make a point, I don't want the same, "Derrick finds himself being tossed around', like I got with the Tigarian, I should've shot him or at least sliced his head off, that's what most slayers would've done, but no, I came off as a softie. I'm trying to build a tough guy image again, or maybe at least a mad crazy fool armed with an M-16. LOL! And about Jack being too powerful, yeah, I have to admit, he is a bit, but then again, I said that Derrick couldn't stay in that form but so long, and if he does, he'll either have a heart attack or get overhearted and black out, that's where the whole sweaty and the tired thing came from, that's why the Tigarian gave me the vile, it replenished my energy. Also, I do realize that not all demons are evil, for example, Jack isn't evil, that's the whole reason why I made him, to prove that not all demons are evil. The demons I fought were evil, that's the point I was trying to make, no matter what people try to make you out to be, you don't have to be it. Jack is the actual son of Satan, and if he can be a good electrically charged, crazy powerful, super fast demon, then why shouldn't all other demons do the same? And trust me, I don't plan to become a god moder, hate those type of people, they annoy the hell out of me, some of them ruined some of the rpgs I was on before. By the way, what's up with this place, how many floors are there? And what are some of the more exclusive places to go to? And also, the Matrix was kinda confusing, I mean, the way they talked, it just didn't make any sense. And they did more talking than fighting to me, screw all the damn talking, just get to the fighting already, I wanna see some blood. lol

I dunno Garelock, I think your missing the point. In terms of the Purgatory inn, there is no God, no heaven, no hell, no satan. Sure they exist in some dimension, not in others. There are no universal powers that control everything, each plane of existance has their own rules, and their own perceptions of Good and Evil.

The hotel is a living being, unknown to the guests, but known to the staff and Lady of the Inn. At any one point the Inn can house up to 200,000 guests. There are several Pools, some of them are in outdoor courtyards that are also inside the Purgatory. There are casinos, eateries, shopping, billiards, any diversion imaginable. And lets not forget the sexual artists.

If you dont' feel that you fit in, perhaps the type of character your portraying is a little too over the top for this particular story line. I dunno, I think it can be done, but it will take patience not only from myself, but from you as well. After all it takes time to solidify a good story.

Already there is a big mystery here, the random doorways. You could always seek out the mysterious Dark Lady, tho' something tells me you continue on like you have been and she will seek you out. And not in a good mood either. LOL

There are other alternatives, they just might take a lil more work then the standard demon battle.

Let me just say this as well, it's not like I'm some kind of expert or anything. And anything I say is just my opinion. I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to be some kind of RPG tyrant or something. LOL

Derrick was sent there on a mission from the very start, his mission was to beat all 6 of the elemental demons, then once he did he could go to Hell's gates, open them and release all the souls entrapped there. He's a demon slayer, it's what they do, they protect the innocent and the wrongly oppressed. And no offense, but some of the characters in the story are a little hard to roleplay with, I mean, think about it, a demon slayer shouldn't be around or conversate with those types of people, especially not demons. The reason I do alot of battle scenes now is because I don't plan to do any in the future, and so far, battles are the best thing going for me.

It sounds to me more as if you are looking to sit down and write a one person story v.s. writing in a collaberative situation. One of the beautiful things about an RPG enviroment is the unforseeable actions of other characters and having too figure out ways to write with them, against them, or around them if need be.. If your always writing entire scenes with just yourself and never allow anyone else to contribute to the scenario, then it's not really an RPG. It's a monologue.

And no offense, but some of the characters in the story are a little hard to roleplay with, I mean, think about it, a demon slayer shouldn't be around or conversate with those types of people

No offense taken btw. But there will be times when roleplay is difficult, that is your challenge and mine, and well anyone else who actively roleplays.

The reason I do alot of battle scenes now is because I don't plan to do any in the future
If this is the case then I am compelled to ask. . . Why write in the sexual RPG area? I mean why not choose something from the regular RPG section. I'm just curious.

Well, I like your rpg better, the characters are hard to roleplay with, but they are funny as hell, that's the reason why I like them so much. I mean, alot of girls seem to want to blow off the tiger guy, and yes, I've noticed that. Also, it's not a monologue, I'm going to add some elements and people to it, with a few of the roleplayer's cooperation, I can vanquish most of the evil demons in the place, that's the whole reason why I picked slayer. There's no way you thought you'd open an rpg with vampires and didn't expect Buffy at least, lol. But, the whole point to it is I'm trying to get settled in, once I'm done with the elemental banishing, that's it for the long, drawn out battles for a while, then I'm going to make a finale, but that's not going to happen any time soon, trust me on that, I'm tired of typing these 5 paragraph posts, it's killing my fingers, I mean, I have to rp at 12 different rpgs, and this is the 13th, hmm, no wonder I'm having bad luck then. Oh well, once I'm done, it's done, I mean, I have to do something, I already said that Derrick was there on a mission, and if you call a demon slayer somewhere, you have to believe that there is some highly powerful evil demons hanging around. By the way, I love LORD OF THE RINGS!

Interesting reasons for your choice.

Not sure why you find it all so amusing, but then I look at the world from a rather askew position. lol
