OOC: Ye Gods!

Evangeline

Evangeline, is the only daughter of a wealthy merchant, and who prized by her father and rarely is allowed out into the world. She is young and naive, and although unmarried, plans are being made with her father to marry her to a Spartan soldier whom she despises. Her mother died during childbirth, and she was reared mostly by her father and a nanny and has become quite a tomboy despite her distinctly feminine body and looks. A mere mortal she is disbelieving of many stories her strictly religious nanny has told her about the Gods and their powers, but she has been advised to never let her rebelious beliefs be known.

i need a good name for my character......he likes evageline ya know

Phoneix, Piero, Basil, Jayce, Stephen, & Theodore are all male names still used today that are traditionally Greek...other characters feel free to use them if your havin writers block

To T.V. or not to T.V. that is the question....

I wanted to comment on the television series Hercules and Xena. It was never my intention for this thread to have anything to do with those two programs. The mythology of this thread should be based on the traditional myths from which the televisions shows are only loosely based. I'd like people to come up with original characters.

Of course, the characters who have already joined may stay. Just no more from TV land, k?

In the interest of organization, here's the current occupants of Erotiki...

Mortals

Asahi (Destiny_Brent) - priestess of the temple of Eros

Xena (lusty00) - warrior princess

Evangeline (Mistress Jorja) - young innocent

Mirakus (captainb) - hunky stonecutter

Piero - a newcomer with eyes for Evangeline

Dieties

Zeus (Fly_on_the_Wall) - king of the gods, currently chasing Asahi

Poseidon (ariosto) - god of the sea, bored waiting for nymphettes

Hera (Me) - queen of the gods, getting pissed off at Hercules

Hestia (Maid_of_Marvels) - goddess of hearth and home, perhaps
the two young lovebirds could use some help setting up house.

Artemis (Brat) - virgin goddess of the moon, I think Xena is very taken with you.

Persophine (Basia) - tempting goddess of the spring

I do believe I listed everyone so far.

Cattle call for mortals...

Possible roles in Greek society:

The aged soldier who has fought his whole life and doesn't know how to relax.

The young fisherman who is a legend in his own mind, 32 seconds is his record. There is so much the goddesses will teach him and it's going to rock his world.

A young seamstress who lost her father to the wild sea. On an isolated beach, she weeps for him at sunset every day.

These are just some possibilities that I came up with off the top of my head. Choose one or come up with one that is all your own.

The actual thread is at:

Ye Gods: The Myth of Erotiki Ormi

BTW: We still have lots of gods and goddesses that we need....

Aphrodite, Apollo, Athena, Dionysus.... just to name a few.

Honey
I'll take on the role of a human...

The wife I think if it's still open and you want me there.

I like the name: Aketa

My dear faith

The part is yours. I am sure the sweet pathos of your character will draw the gods and goddesses like bees to a flower.

Hephaestus....

Would it okay if I take on a second character???

:D

Faith, something tells me you have something devious in mind. I can't wait to find out!

Darn

Funny you should mention Morpheus...because I really wanted to play Orpheus, son of a muse . His music could make stones weep. In the Gaiman Storyline Orpheus is the son of Morpheus. Although I was planning on sticking to the Greek myth and having him have just left hades and lost his love for looking back to soon. but I'll wait for a reply before I post.

This is quite a nice little plot twist. I adore the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, such grand tragedy. The lyre is yours, Inkubus.

Serah, the goddess of love is yours to play. I am thrilled to be writing on a thread with you again.

Morpheus is an interesting choice. I am curious. Do you plan to visit the island in physical form or in the dreams of the mortals? Both possibilities are intriguing for a god who has never got his due. I love your description of him, by the way.

An available god or goddess need to see if they can enrich the life of Aketa, the unhappy wife.

Because I enjoy torturing myself, I'm creating a new character, a female one this time, for all those gods who can't get enough. Zeus, this means you. *g* Kidding.

Name: Katina
Description: Young, voluptuous, with long black hair, Katina is a weaver in the village. She lives alone, her days and nights filled with dreams of a dark stranger, though she just longs for any man. The men of the village however think she is rather strange and try to avoid her as much as they can.

Her father could deny her nothing as she grew up, and she was never for want, except for her dream stranger. (Anyone care to guess who the stranger was?). Her father died only 2 months past, and still she mourns.

Anyone interested?

Hi! I have very much enjoyed this thread and would like to join in. I have an idea about a character, a man about 20 years of age, who is the son of a wealthy merchant. Having been part of high society, he has led a very sheltered life. He has been pleasured by many of the finest servant girls in the region, but none of them have stirred any feelings in him except pure lust. He now wishes for something more, a woman who can excite him, can make him want to serve her for a change. As far as personality, he is quite naive as a result of his sheltered existence. He really has no idea there are even mean people in the world. This life has bored him, though, since there is no real emotion in it, and that is what he seeks on this journey.
