That would be perfect...thanks DLL. Yes it's been cold here but supposed to get warmer this week...not the 77-80 that Palm Springs is expecting end of this week though.

Ottawa? hmmm I'm not that familar with Ottawa. Usually when I'm there I just go to the Bytown Market area (that's downtown not far from the Parliament Buildings and the Chateau Laurier hotel). There are all sorts of restaurants and bars there...I just pick one.

A request instead of a recommendation

I will be heading to London later in the week.

Any recommendations for anywhere in London? I don't mind a long trip as I will have plenty of free time and I love traveling around getting to see the city and the people.

It is a restuarant and bar in OXO Tower on the Thames. Was there two years ago and it was a pretty good place. Lots of action in the bar and good food as well. It is not cheap!!!

I also like pub food at a number of places. I can't think of the name but there is one in particular near Victoria Station. Sorry can't remember the name

London eats

If you are in London then pub food is definitely your best option - you need to exercise some discretion, as some places can be rather downmarket, but all will have good food, and great beer!!

Enjoy

Baltimore

I travel to Baltimore occasionally on business, and would recommend John Steven, at Thames St and Ann St, down at Fells Point. Great seafood, amazing wet bar, superb choice of beers, and reasonable prices. They also have a great outdoor/conservatory area for those smoking lepers like me!!

Thanks for the tips! OXO Tower huh? I will have to check it out. And not to worry. Money is no object. Business trip you know! And action in the bar to boot! Wahoo!!!

I understand the bit about pub food. Actually, a technique I learned years ago is to find a pub, go in, have a look around and order a beer. Then watch the regulars. Are they eating? What are they drinking? Then if I don't like what I see as I drink my beer, I find another.

There have been times when I had to hit 5 or 6 pubs before I could find one with good food!!! :D
