Powell decided in 2000 that he didn't want to subject his family to the media cluster fuck. Proving what a wise and compassionate man he is, not to mention an fine father.

And husband. Mrs. Powell is bi-polar and there is no way in Hell she could survive the extraordinary viciousness that has become the language du jour of American politics. He knows that and has his priorities straight.
 
One thing we all seem to agree on... Rev. Wright has become a major problem for Barack Obama.

I admire Obama's decision to stand by those who have in the past supported him. It's courageous. Unfortunately, Rev. Wright does not seem to share Barack Obama's views on the best way to move forward in our national struggle against racism.

I have not delved far enough into Wright's words to be certain of his most basic positions, being left to decipher them from the media attention. (I have only limited time, ya know.) But I'm reminded of Chris Rock's take on who the most racist people are...
