Parisian Masquerade

Verity looked at Leon...

"He wouldn't be dumb enough to do it. He knows if he ever did anything like this I would kill him... Also... He want's to hear because he likes me and I wont let him have a chance and then you come along with money and power so of course he assumes I am going to chase after you.. That is why he wants to hear the conversation."

She said to him, her tone even as she sat there looking around. People were clearing out and heading off to bed rooms and private areas of the house.

He watched people walking, most stumbling off to other areas, men with their mistresses, some with their wives, women with waiters and other staff, some in groups others in couples and not a few men leaving with other men as well. As the room quieted down, he looked back upon the beautiful young lady.

"You are more than welcome to stay at my estate. The staff there is courteous and respects confidentiality, and Robert." The words said with a huff "Is welcome as well."

Verity sat there looking from Leon to Robert and back around the room. Seeing a few people who were clearly either watching her or him she wasnt sure which she leaned into him pressing her lips closely to his ear. The look in her eyes was deadly as she watched them.

"I will come with you, Robert will stay and he will not find out where you reside at."

She said to him. Her tone not matching the way her body moved as she pulled back away from him with a soft smile on her lips.

He couldn't help but laugh. It was an Esatate, the largest for miles and miles and everyone nearby knew where he lived, but he let it go, at leasta s long as she was willing to.

"When can you be ready to leave? I can have me carriage come by and pick you up. It's a half day journey in good weather."

Verity smiled pulling the bag from under her stool she looked at him.

"I'm already, ready."

"I ummm" Verity had left him speachless, which wasn't something that happened very often.
"Let me summon a runner to get my coach, shouldn't be more than an hour, I am sure Robert can entertain us with some witty story or black magic."

These words were chosen carefully to gauge his response and to shift their attention to him. As I summoned the runner, it was obvious that Robert as well had summoned someone to follow.

Verity watched Robert carefully taking Leon's hand she slid off her seat and stood up. Glaring back at Robert she looked to Leon and winked playfully. "Follow me." She said simply to him and then lead him off to one of her rooms that were typically used for a private show.
