part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

Sits at the bar and nodds to cg, “Welcome back here sir, i’ve not seen you in some time. Glad to see the place looking so nice.” He smiles.

Well the normal aches and pains Tio. Maybe some more a bit serious but overall better. So how are things going for you?
Sits at the bar and nodds to cg, “Welcome back here sir, i’ve not seen you in some time. Glad to see the place looking so nice.” He smiles.
Good to see you Glad.

Gentlemen something to drink ?

Not a problem Glad I have some homemade hard cider and I have left it out side in cold storage to freezes the water condense.

Good time for hard cider, elf. My BIL used to live near an orchard. When we'd visit in the fall, we'd get two or three gallon jugs, open the tops and leave them to get inoculated with the yeast spores wafting from the the barn rafters. In the trunk for the six-hour drive home and then in the fridge. Three days later, sparkling fresh hard cider. The best!

Arrives and comes in from the basement after doing some industrial cleaning and checking the plumbing. Overalls and boots are down in the laundry room after he cleaned up and slipped into jeans and a hoodie. He happily collects a large coffee and then gives the room a wave. He then walks over and begins changing over his large train set to fall weather, complete with changing the foliage of the trees.

I miss the warm days and cool to cold evenings in northern New England and Quebec Tio. Family and friends celebrating the change of seasons.

Spent a week in Maine and New Brunswick this July, cg. I'm really tempted to head back there before the snow flies, but a family gathering in the New Jersey Pine Barrens may be all the traveling I'll manage this Autumn. It'll be good to see everyone, though.

It has become cooler overnight and is expected to stay colder during the morning, although I hope it will warm up. I think by the time you arrive, you'll get to see some lovely leaves changing.

The train set looks ready for fall with all the citizens of the Lego train community enjoying a fall look about them, with some even raking up leaves and chopping firewood. A hot cider and donut cart is now by the town fountain, and Jack even placed a handyman and assistant working on the fountain, preparing it for winter.

I see autumn has come to the train layout Jack.

I pour a mug of homemade hard cider.

Any one for some hard cider just apples and a bit of natural air borne yeast and a touch of sugar to give nature a helping hand.

Jack sits on the window sill looking out the window at the trees in the courtyard and then back at the train board where two trains are running through the fall forest and town and village. After a long look, Jack walks around wishing everyone well.

Then back to the forest, removing a few trees to set up a woodsmen's cabin on a small hill by the train tracks.

Any requests?

Thanks for the cider, cg, and for the trains, Jack. Requests? Perhaps you could entertain some tourists with an old-fashioned observation car on the passenger train. I'm sure they'd appreciate the autumn views of village and countryside.

Have the commuter train and a freight line, perhaps another line would be in order, so people could enjoy the view of the town and the forest as they head to other locations.

Jack sets down a large Lego railroad box by the setup and then collects the dirty coffee cups, taking them into the kitchen. He makes sure the place is locked up and the lights are off and heads down the road. Always thought I might have a cabin down the road.

Finally wanders back in to have that mug of cider he had forgotten to drink. He sighs happily. This place is a welcome escape today.

That it is Tio.

Glad did you have to spend a penny before imbibing in the cider?

Quite the long day, more than glad it’s over.” He takes a sip and smiles. “How are you gentleman?”

“It’s been unseasonably warm here. Did a bit of writing after work hoping to do more later, and about to have dinner and watch football a bit. Not a bad day.”

We were up near 30 Celsius (85 F) yesterday and today; cooler expected on Wednesday. Leaves are changing nicely, though; promises to be a colorful Autumn.

83 F on this lovely fall day here. I embrace and enjoy it because I know the cold will be brutal. Trees haven't changed yet, but they are starting to, and I find that amazing.

She came downstairs wearing a frown and covered in cobwebs. She still didn't understand CG's cryptic private message. The only thing that was clear is that he left the Inn in her care. Why her, she wasn't sure but she would do her best to uphold CG's trust in her and his Inn.

To all those who frequent this place, we all hold it together and I hope you will join me in my prayers for CG. I don't know anything other than he left this place in my care and that his health is not good.

DW~
