As luck would have it, Aubree turned her back to the door almost as soon as James came in, to order another bottle of hard apple cider. If she had thought about it, she would've realized that her outfit wasn't going to make it easy for James to spot her. Since they had talked about bowling and playing eight ball, she had dressed very casually: loose black jeans, an old, plain, slightly oversized gray T-shirt, and her hair tucked under a baseball cap with a picture of Marvin the Martian on it. Nothing fancy, but after all, this wasn't a date, she thought to herself. Just a couple of old friends getting to know each other again.
Aubree took a swig from her bottle, looked around, but still didn't spot James in the crowd. I'll give him another five minutes and then text him, she thought.
