Life couldnt get any worse for Madelyn or Maddi to her friends. She had planned this trip to Romania to follow leads she had found in her family tree. A family background that gave her some hope she wasn't all alone in this world. Sure she had friends,her adoptive family adored her but something had been missing as she grew up,she felt as if she wasn't whole. Since 7th grade she had put away every bit of money she earned,then the paychecks from odd jobs she worked at. She had planned this trip for the last 6 years,now at 21 she had made it to Romania to have her luggage,passport and purse stolen. She was lucky she had some money in her pocket after landing but how far wouls one hundred dollars get her. She had a small backpack with maybe one change of clothes and that as it.
She moved along the green contryside,the locals nodding to her as they passed in a neighborly way,some even said hello to her. She stopped and sat down on a rock beside the dirt road and pulled off her hiking boots.sighing in relief as she wiggled her toes. Her long red hair tied back in a long thick braid down her back,her green eyes hidden by dark sunglasses. She had been sensitive to the sunlight for as long as she could recall. One time she had went skiing with friends only to become deathly sick to the point she was warned by her family doctor she had to avoid direct exposure to the sun,her skin didnt have the right pigments to fend off the rays.
She looked around to try and figure out where she was,it was a small town from the looks of it. The sight that caught her eye was the large castle sitting on the side of a mountain behind her. She shifted around to get a better view of it,standing as she did. "Excuse me..."She said to a passing man in a cart. "Please what is that place?" She asked hoping he understood english. The man looked at her and then to the castle. He smiled softly as he looked back to her.
"That is the Crescent Moon Inn...one of the best hotels around here. Run by a noble family for generations,noone is turned away."He answered her while still looking closely at her,almost as if he knew she was in trouble. "Owned by twin brothers..Tanner and Travis Romanov. The Inn is special..yes..very special to us arund here." The man said as he appeared to zone out,creeping Maddi out slightly.
"Thank you..."She said to him as he clicked his tongue and the mule pulled the cart forward. She watched the man until he vanished around the bend and out of sight. She let out a breath she had been holding before putting her boots bak on and lifting up her backpack. What did she have to lose..everything she had had already been stolen..right now she needed a good nights sleep and int the morning she would figure out what to do.
