I used St Johns Wort for awhile with some success. Preferred Kava Kava, because it helps with anxiety, but they've pulled that from the market due to liver damage. The St Johns Wort might help in the interim. Just a thought, hon.

I've struggled with depression and anxiety since I was a teenager, but got tired of being medicated all the time, so learned to let myself have my blue days and then found ways to pull myself out. It's a hard struggle, and it's very easy to let myself get really, really depressed. I know that my tendency when depressed is to hibernate, so I force myself out of that comfort zone and can often get myself out of my depression. But it took years to get to that point.
