Pegasus' Wings (Mecha Lounge)

They done a modular system before, haven't they?
With all the teams they make in Gundam shows a gundam that can fit any role on the battlefield is less important. So you get highly customized designs like the dynames for long range and the Exia for short range combat. The Virtue for sheer firepower and the Kyrios for speed maneuverability and interception.

The closest they've come to an actual modular system is the Strike Gundam, though the design is supposed to be a modular design from the getgo. The original Gundam could swap Core Fighter modules for different setups, but that's about it.

Seems like they should've thought of a modular armament system before. Just think about how many model kits they could sell just for each Gundam's different arms combination.

They should have, yes, considering the original was built around a Universal Power Plug system to allow it to use enemy weapons.

It's been ages since I've seen the original MSG.

I had a refresher course on the entire multiverse a while back. Got stuck on Zeta during UC though...can't seem to sit still long enough to finish Zeta.

Let's see, I've seen:
The original
MS squad
the one with the kid as a pilot in the colony.
The one where there's gundam fighters
Gundam Wing
Gundam Seed
and Gundam OO

I think that's all of them.

The original was Mobile Suit: Gundam.
I'm going to guess by Mobile Suit Squad you mean 08th Mobile Suit Team.
Kid as a pilot in the colony...um...that one's a lot vague. There were several like that (War in the pocket, F91,Char's Counterattack...)
Mobile Fighter G Gundam is the Gundam Tournament one.

Mobile Suit: Gundam-the original and in some ways still the best.
08th Mobilse Suit Team-yeah that's it-actually really liked that one.
I think it was either war in the pocket or F91-that was before I became anything more than a casual fan with OO.
Mobile Fighter G Gundam-yep that's the name.

It was Double O that really turned me onto the franchise. since then I've discovered Seed, and found I liked that one too.

Was there a transforming mobile suit, a tanklike one, early on in the one you can't figure out the name of? If so, that's a custom GunTank made out of scrap parts by a museum owner in F91.

I don't think so.
If I remember it. It was a kid in the colony that made the original and he piloted it against a zeon attack to stop the gundam program. When they attacked the kid sorta hid inside the cockpit and accidentally stopped the saboteurs. Something like that.

Hmm....That doesn't sound like one I've seen. War in the Pocket actually has the kid siding with Zeon....

I think it was only 12 episodes and I only saw six or seven of them.
Like I said it back when I wasn't a fan.

hmm makes me want to look up on it now.

Nods

I saw it on Cartoon network waaay back when they had Toonami on weekday afternoons.

War in the Pocket was a six ep OVA...

Stardust Memory was originally released in OVA form, 13 episodes, but that started planetside.

There IS one other thing that comes to mind, now that I think of it. When Gundam Wing's movie, Endless Waltz, was first aired stateside, it was in OVA form on Cartoon network. That, if memory serves, was 12 parts.

Eldnless waltz was a 3 part OVA.
And also redone with extra footage as a non-interrupted movie version.
the 3 part OVA was aired back to back on cartoon network back when Wing was coming to a end and beginning to repeat on CN.
Also I've been hearing about something new to Wing that is sounding really weird.
I don't know much info about it so all I know for sure is that there is something new being added to the Wing time line.
How canon it is I have no idea.

No clue. The only new Gundam show I've seen so far is Unicorn, which takes place at the end of Universal Century

Unicorn was 0096 I think?
End of UC is Victory Gundam by the way in UC 0135?
Hmm yeah sorry, I'm a gundam nut =D

That may be so, but it's listed as being at the end of the Universal Century itself, not at the end of the UC canon.

Eh well who knows.
I just know UC doesn't end with Unicorn.
Though who knows what it will mess with.
Also I think Victory is UC 153.
And F91 was 129 maybe?
People oddly even in japan don't like late UC.
Though we are running out of room to add things between 0079 and 0096
We'll be into full blown remakes soon =(

That wouldn't be so bad if they have someone like me at the helm. Someone who's anal retentive when it comes to how things are done.

If you did a remake, it might come out ok.
But other then that things will get messed with.... A LOT...
So yeah.
I mean the Zeta movies were cool
added in a few background shots of the Gundam Hazel unit or two.
A few MS from 0083 still in use and what not too.
But they were uber lazy.
Mixing old 80s animation with newer CG animation makes it looks really bad.
The new footage is really nice, but makes the older footage from the show look very very dated ><
