Hmm, I'm fine with that. That's actually kind of interesting, as it might indicate that their bodies have fundamentally changed as well in some one, even if they ultimately rejected the infection. It might have still physically changed their bodies. Thoughts?

Yeah, maybe it changed their bodies just a lil, made them a bit more resilient, though it had no impact on their brain.
