I'm thinking maybe they come across a military base, but Sabastian senses zombies inside even though it looks safe. They can't tell Vin how they know when they're standing in front of it in view of the guards, so he just tells him to be really careful.

Hmm, that could work. I was trying to think of some way to keep them all together for at least a few days, so the relationships have a little time to develop.

I was thinking after he leaves, maybe he ends up meeting up with them again when they meet that preacher guy? Maybe he's a little uncomfortable, but doesn't quite know the scope of how crazy the guy is until shit hits the fan?

Okay, that sounds good. Then let's say it takes a couple days for them to hit the base (or drop the base if they're feeling musically inclined), then they separate and Cora gets bitten. That makes them stay in one spot for almost a week, allowing Vin to leave the base when shit goes down, and find the church group shortly before they arrive.

They hang out at the church group for a while as shit gets weirder and weirder until it culminates int a sex-sermon where Cora learns the error of her ways. What do you think?
