I was hoping maybe they get out of the creepy church cult, and he confronts Sabastian about it and Sabastian tries to worm his way out of the conversation but is unsuccessful. <_<

I had a scene in my head where he takes off Sabastian's eyepatch, but he stubbornly refuses to open his eye. So, Vin does something surprising like kissing him or touching him and that makes the blonde man's eye open wide reflexively.

I'm thinking the person in question sees the murderous look on his face and makes a run for it, and Vin looks over just in time to see Damien chasing after someone. Then remembering the night before, Vin goes after him too, and comes up on him after the confrontation has happened~

I think so too. Plus the spikes will certainly help with that too. Plus, I think that's exactly the sort of special guitar one might find at a pawn shop rather than a standard guitar store, so I think that works out nicely.
