Well, I think there should be a distinct difference between the ones who took over human bodies, and the ones who were actually born via eggs.

I was playing with the idea that the spores travel from planet to planet, not truly having a specific shape themselves. They infect a race, take it over, and assume their form. They would use the humans to birth themselves if that makes sense?
